  "This hotel caters predominantly for German and French holiday makers. Only 3 British people there when I arrived. I was shown to an apartment up the hill over a small cafe up 4 flights of stone stairs with no lift. I had booked all inclusive pool/sea view to stay at a 4 star hotel with lifts to all ..."floors. I am 70 years old and a solo woman traveller. I refused to unpack until they gave me what I had paid for. 5 hours later I was moved to the hotel. On the plus side, the hotel was spotless and the rooms were clean and well worth the 4 star rating. Staff were friendly and helpful, the pool was gorgeous and it has real imported sand and a private beach. Live entertainment every night was varied and very good .On the minus side, this part of West Madeira is very isolated, one small supermarket, pharmacy and a gift shop.
