  "The Excelsior was everything we expected and more. The overall decor IS "old world", but that seems to fit with the location and vistas surrounding it.But it is spotless! We had 14 hours of travelling, but upon seeing the view and receiving a warm welcome, all was good! Yes, the beds are very firm, ..."but all rooms have beautiful sea views, the dinners were plentiful and varied, the hotel shuttle was a great bonus and the staff amazing. Antonio, the maitre 'd, was a whirlwind, making sure everyone was happy as well as Salvatore (best bartender in Amalfi!)who was so personable and proud of his coast.We walked down to Amalfi (1062 steps) and took town bus back(stops in front of hotel)Also, take the open-air bus tour from Amalfi to Ravello and visit Villa Cimbrone for the views and gardens!   "A great place to stay in Amalfi"
  "We really enjoyed our stay here. The room we got did not have a view (except of the street below), but we didn't really mind. Margo (the receptionist/ manager?) was extremely helpful and helped us book a driver to the Naples airport on the day of our departure. Since we had to leave pretty early ..."on the day of our departure (7:00 a.m.), she even brought a few breakfast items ahead of time the night before! The room itself is pretty large for Italy standards, and the place is clean and comfortable. I especially liked the shower, as the water pressure was great, and it was an overhead shower head. The B&B is located close to the bus stop (where the SITA bus dropped us off), however, there are a few flight of steps up to the place, so keep that in mind with luggage and all. From our room, the street below can be noisy, but we brought a sound machine with us and it was fine. The place is also located centrally, just steps from the main piazza in town. " More >

  "This is a pleasant hotel, located on the waterfront in Amalfi. Room had a nice outlook and being just far enough away from the main centre of Amalfi tourist precinct to allow the doors to the balcony to be kept open at night. A short walk to shops and restaurants and very close to ferry point make ..."it a convenient place to stay. Room a little on the small side, but adequate. Bed and pillows comfortable, breakfast adequate, very good free WIFI " More >
