I have been there a few times now and I have never had a bland meal and never had anything battered! Was there on Saturday and the chill..."i salmon was gorgeous and the pate very tasty. My husband did have battered mushrooms but thoroughly enjoyed them. The meal prices are excellent at some main courses for a fiver and a special on one course, two course, three course. They are trying hard in the recession to get back customers. Personally I don't find the decor off putting and I think that I like it old fashioned and used.
