We had arrived early so we parked our car in the guests car parking area, inroduced ourselves to the hostess Joy, and made our way into Keswick for some shopping and tea and cake. The town is around a 15 minute walk, which is a highly agreeable stroll through pleasant residential areas. We came back later on that afternoon to check in, and we were treated to a warm greeting and were made to feel very welcome. The hotel is located at the southern end of the lake and is set back in a secluded area. The staff were very polite and ensured our stay was very good.   "My wife and I spent the weekend running in the Lakes and used the Queens Hotel as our base. I booked late and the excellent Rebecca found a room for us and a space within the in-house car park for our car. From the moment we arrived my wife and I felt that nothing was too much trouble for the staff..." at the Queens Hotel. Our room, like the rest of the hotel was very clean and tidy. Breakfast offered a wide choice and when our schedule demanded an earlier the normal breakfast the staff were happy to ensure we got access to what we needed. My wife damaged herself during the run on Sunday and when we eventually made it back to the hotel the staff again stepped up to help by getting everything we required and ultimately ensuring we got to the local NHS drop-in centre. I rarely contribute to such forums but on this occasion would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others. We will most definitely return.. " More >
