This place has the look and feel of an opulent country house hotel but with the added benefit of being easy walking distance from the cathedral and the city centre. Our room (called "Hornbeam") was a decent size, with a view of the garden, and there was plenty of space for a large cot to accommodate our baby. The bathroom was also large and luxurious, with loads of fluffy towels. Breakfast was generous and delicious and the wait staff were attentive.   "just returned from spending an overnight stay. Spa package which included 1 night, dinner in Brassiere restaurant, breakfast and lunch. Also included was 2 treatments for £129. Excellent value. Only criticism was that Dinner on Sunday night was very disappointing. There was either the Italian buffet..." or set menu. My friends and I decided to go for the set menu. Two of my friends had the Piri Piri Chicken which basically was Chicken and chips which was very dry (overcooked). On reflection we should have gone for the buffet as lunch today was brilliant and loads of choice. Spa treatments were good and relaxing .Therapists were very professional. Room was excellent and bed very very comfortable. Would I stay here again, YES " More >
