There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere to the hotel and the staff as as lovely as the island itself. We stayed further down from the Dive Bar which meant around a 10/15 minute walk to the sister hotel, Divi which is a little more plush but has less beach access rooms. If you do not fancy the walk there are plenty of golf caddies that shuttle people to and from both the Tamarijn and the Divi. Our room looked right out on to the sand and the sea and we had our own little straw cabaña. It was just far enough away from the main bar and restaurants in the hotel to be peaceful but close enough to the other smaller bar to allow multiple cocktail access during prime... " More >

We arrived around noon but our room would not be ready until 4pm (I believe they make everyone wait until around 4pm to enter their rooms) but we did not let that stop us from enjoying the amenities. When we arrived in the room we were pleasantly surpr..."ised by our studio room. There is a little "mud room" for wet bathing suits, shoes, rafts, etc. The bathroom was very nice, the shower had a nice waterfall head and there was a little bench to sit on. The kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed (even things like a blender, can opener, pots/pans, every utensil you might need). We had fun making mixed drinks and lunches when we took a break from the pool and sat at the island countertop. The bed left some to be desired.. it was very soft and kind of hurt my back over the week, but it was OK. The balcony was nice and we even had a view of the ocean from our "garden view" fourth floor room. We ate at the Islander Grill (in La Cabana) several time... " More >

  "My husband and I visited Aruba for the first time and stayed at this resort. Overall we had a wonderful honeymoon! Can't beat the view as all rooms face the beach. The food is average, the only restaurant we would complain about is Paparazzi, the food there was terrible. Service staff is great espec..."ially Iris at the concierge and Edwin the bartender. Cleanliness of the beach varied from day to day, I wish people cleaned up after themselves then the beach would be a lot cleaner at all times. The only thing that REALLY bothered us at this resort was cleanliness of the bars, most of them needed a nice clean up and we even observed moldy soda guns, my husband is in the restaurant industry, so it wasn't hard for us to notice these things. If we ever come back to Aruba, we would definitely stay here again, hoping for clean bars! " More >
