I too attended for a wedding and that would have been special wherever we had stayed but being at Crutches made it even more so. Our room was tidy, clean and warm, the beds were comfortable and the rate we were offered was reasonable. The owners are hospitable and the service Ron and the rest of the staff provided was... More

Stayed here for 3 nights last week, my friends were getting married and all 22 rooms were taken by some of the wedding party - the other ones not so lucky to stay here found nearby accomodation. It's very different but as soon as we walked in it felt like home, Ron is fabulous, the wedding reception dinner was yummy... More

Dreadful hotel, rooms felt damp, ensuites were not clean. Dampness openly seen on upstairs walls. Old curtins thrown across bannisters upstairs! The bar had no beer!! The owner had to leave to get a keg, and there was no other staff available while he was gone. He set the fire as the bar was cold, but the smoke choked us... More

Although Crutch's Hillville House Hotel may look beautiful in the photos on this website and in the VisitIreland.com Tour Guide Book, DO NOT BE MISLEAD. The house is in absolute shambles (possibly the Irish House of Usher). I am also severely disappointed that Lonely Planet (a usually trusted source) called it "eccentric." Yes, it is "eccentric" if you note the... More

A diamond in disguise, that's what Crutches is. From the moment we arrived we receceived the royal treatment from Ron and his staff. Ron's unique and individual style makes staying there more than pleasurable. In fact ,it is difficult to describe as you have to experience first hand to truely understand the beauty of this hidden treasure. Breakfast was a... More

I recently hosted a party in Crutches Hotel and what a fantastic night it was. Ron and all the staff went out of their way to look after everybody so well. The food served was delicious and the atmosphere was brilliant. Crutches has such a relaxing atmosphere, that it immerses you the minute you arrive. If you are looking for... More

I don't know what the Australians problem is, other than there is not a Travelodge nearby. Crutchs has a special laid back approach which you can completely relax into. Long live Ron and may Crutchs stay the same for ever. I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Kerry.

I was recently asked by a group of friends to organise the now 'annual' trip to Ireland. It ended with 13 of us booking into Crutch's for two nights...and it was the best decision I made. What a grand place it is, surrounded by hills and with the sea only a stone's throw away.I must confess to having had serious... More
