We stayed at the Farm at Cape Kidnappers while we were on our honeymoon. It was our first stop on our first trip to New Zealand, and we immediately started talking about planning another trip there for our 5 year anniversary. Words cannot begin to describe the utter perfection of the experience. The property is stunning - elegant, warm, tastefully... More

The Farm at Cape Kidnappers is a special place. Top quality in staff and structure. The ambiance is enhanced buy the lovely vistas. The golf course is excellent and challenging. One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The only negative is that compared to other top resorts it is a bit pricey. At 30-40% more than Aman resorts... More

This is an 800 acre property that is far away from the tourist spots. The rooms are well appointed and the food is very good. Golf course, spa and swimming pool are all great. The are many activities for the ecologists to include bird watching--you can even go on a search for the Kiwi and if luck is with you... More

We stayed at the Farm as part of our travels and stays at boutique lodges throughout New Zealand. Cape Kidnappers is an unbelievably beautiful and elegant "rustic" lodge. It is extremely well maintained and its location is amazing and postcard perfect. The only recommendation we would have, to an otherwise outstanding facility, is that the management staff seemed a bit... More

New Zealand now has several outstanding, world class lodges/small hotels and this one is right up at the top. Great mix of rustic chic that take full advantage of its fabulous site and amazing views, wonderful room design (kudos to the interior designer, who really has done outstanding job;luxurious without Four Seasons gilt and marble). Staff could not have been... More

I was concerned that beginning our trip at Kauri Cliffs set the bar so high that there was no way it could get better - but it did at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers. While we preferred the design of Kauri Cliffs over The Farm, and Huka Lodge won the bathroom design award, Cape Kidnappers offered spectacular views, wonderful food,... More

The concept of luxury lodges is a brilliant one, and New Zealand seems to excel in this category of establishment. Spending a few nights in such an establishment is MUCH MORE akin to visiting your (Very) wealthy uncle at his retreat, as opposed to being a guest in a hotel. In particular and in regards to the Farm at Cape... More

After a magical experience at Kauri Cliffs to celebrate our engagement last year we were skeptical as to whether it could be matched by The Farm at Cape Kidnappers. I can happily report that our recent weekend at this spectacular Hawke's Bay property was even better than we had hoped for. Expectation built during the winding 7 kilometre drive from... More

The Farm at Cape Kidnappers is one of New Zealand's most luxurious lodges. This is right up there with those for whom staying at 5++ star properties is their thing. You won't be disappointed. Sometimes in NZ hotels call themselves lodges or resorts and I wonder who gave them the 5 stars, but Cape Kidnappers is in a luxury band... More
