We stayed in room 303, a beautiful, comfortable, well appointed room with an absolutely incredible view of Mt. Etna in all her active glory, right across the canyon. It was outstanding, and the fact that we were there in the off season reduced the normal 250 euro per night fee considerably! The staff, from a charming blonde, Australian-born lady and... More

A truly first-class hotel, with huge rooms, huge terraces, friendly staff and a view of Mt Etna that cannot be surpassed. Rather than stay in Taormina we found this eagle's nest high above the crowds, and were so happy we stayed several days there. Note that it is a long and twisty drive, but the hotel has a shuttle bus... More

Excellent experience. The hotel is in a remote spot which permits enjoying fantasting views if the natural landscape. You'll need a car, and I suspect that a taxi ride is likely to be expensive. Hotel offers shuttle to Taormina, but check frequency. Good service, friendly staff, clean rooms.

High on a hillside several km above Taormina, the only practical way to get there is to drive up a v. steep , narrow and winding road with parked cars & buses etc - not for the faint-hearted! The rooms are excellent, great views, service very good. Food, though, is average at best (given that we are in Italy!) with... More

Going to fall in line with all the positive reviews. Our three days here were a joy. Highlight of course is waking up to the views of Etna, continued over breakfast offering lots of choice. The hotel itself oozes charm and character, the staff were great and gave us some great tips for visits. Food in restaurant was excellent -... More

Quiet comfortable and clean hotel with incredible views. Breakfast on the terrace a delight! We did not eat in the hotel other than for breakfast but walked (climbed!) up the steps to Castelmola with it's charm and delightful restaurants and views. Poolside at Hotel Villa Sonia was great - enjoyed lunch by the pool. Easy access to Taormina - and... More

We stayed for one week on a B&B basis and were made to feel very welcome. The hotel was very clean & the staff lovely. Breakfast on the terrace was a delight with fabulous views of Mount Etna. There was a large choice of dishes. We ate dinner twice during the week & whilst the food was very good, it... More

This hotel has nothing but character and charm, with lots of weird and wonderful antiquities scattered about the public areas. We booked bed and breakfast, and the breakfast had a varied selection to cater for most nationalities. The terrace where breakfast is served overlooks Etna, as did our room - a view you never get tired of seeing. We were... More

We enjoyed a wonderful room overlooking Mt Etna. Hotel facilities were of a good standard and the furniture and artefacts around the hotel added to the overall warm ambience. The standard of food was mixed; the major shortcomings were occasional lukewarm meals and the non-existence of vegetables. interestingly, the kitchen appeared to very long way from the dining room. This... More

This is a good, comfortable hotel where the staff are friendly and attentive. But it is let down entirely by the food, which is poor. We eat in on our first night and wished we hadn't. The pasta was like something from a Heinz tin and the fried potatoes were awful. We met a French couple from the hotel when... More
