Fantastic location and very nice and cozy rooms! The owner is so sweet and so is his daughter! They helped us a lot and they made the experience even better! It’s located amazing and the view is breathtaking!!! Best view ever. You should definitely live here when visiting Castelmola!

The photos don't show how spectacular the view from the room is. This place is an absolute gem. Some people say in their reviews that the hotel feels old, but I found everything to be in a very good condition. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom felt recently renovated, clean and well equiped. The place is indeed simple, but personally I wouldn't change it for a luxury hotel in downtown Taormina. And the view. The view ! Some tips for travelers: 1. At least in August 2020, there's no breakfast, you can get a small discount for one of the cafés in Castelmola. The balcony is a lovely place to eat something, so it's highly advised to grab a fruit or two the day before and enjoy it in the morning having this spectacular view. 2. We asked for a room number 45 which was at the corner, so we neighbored only one room and had windows facing both the south and the west. You may ask for this room if you want a panoramic wiew, but it does not have AC. It's best to sleep with the front door closed and its curtains shut, as due to the southern exposure the rooms can get hot very quickly in the morning. 3. I got a better deal booking through hotels.com, paid 57€ instead of 80€ which was on other sites. 4. Taverna dell'etna is great for a dinner in Castelmola, but remember to make a reservation for a table with a view as there's only two of them! 5. Right now there's very few tourists in Castelmola, we were probably the only guests in the hotel having it all for us. 6. Contrary to older reviews you get your keys directly at the hotel, NOT at a café in Castelmola. That was the case until one year ago, but the owner has changed since. 7. One night here is not enough…

Beautiful view, but you can have it from the every coffe shop in Castelmola. You don't need to pay 100 euro for triple room as in our case. Lot of stairs from centre to the house, bad smell in corridor,3 beds 2 lamps, old and cheep furniture and decoration (plastic flowers). Bathroom door needs to be replaced or at least refurbished. Very difficult to find the house. Castelmola is beautiful small town with very narrow streets and if you don't know where to go you are in a very big problem.etc etc AVOID Villa Regina.

My husband and I stayed here in August 2018 for 2 nights. Pro: - we got a spacious room with a spectacular view. - big balcony, lots of windows. Con: - the shower door broke on our first day. We had to wait for the maintenance guy to finish repairing it. It eventually got fixed. -typical small shower stall, you’re in Italy after all, they are all small - we got lost when we arrived as we didn’t know that we had to pick up the key at the restaurant. Staff did not help us bring our luggage to our room. There are lots of stairs to get there! The pros outweigh the cons, because when you see that view you forget all the negative points. I found the staff to be hit or miss. The owners daughter was very pleasant and helpful. Another girl who worked at the restaurant also helped us as to where to catch the bus to get to Taormina. But on another morning, we caught one lady who didn’t care about us and let us wait one hour to get breakfast. Overall, it was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay…

We have visited Villa Regina for one week holidays. Place is stunning. Castelmola was the best possible choice. Taormina is too busy at all the time, while Castelmola is charming, romantic and perfect town to stay. Breathtaking views, lovely staff, affordable prices. Magic.

Staying at Villa Regina was nice and authentic. Small and worn out room, but very cosy and quiet. If you plan on staying here to visit Taormina I’d recommend renting a car as it’s quite a trek. Luckily Castelmola is super charming and a good place to spend the evenings.

We visited Castelmola in mid-september. All 3 rooms we got had perfect sea view on the top of the rocky edge. Mornings and evenings on the balcony were just perfect and memorable. Room standard is average but there is cleaning service daily and small breakfast included. Hosts are very nice and helpful. City is amazing. Small, old and very romantic. It has mountain top terrace that provides perfect panoramic shots and You can spend whole evening there drinking wine!

This hotel offers amazing views! Our room had a front view to the sea. You can see taormina, the see and even the other side of the sea, Italy! The bathroom is very small and the box for showering was minuscule. This didn't bothered us because lying in our bed we could see the view. The hotel is located up a steep hill near taormina. Parking is on the street. The night life of the hotel nearby is calm and has a very Italian atmosphere.

The best thing about this hotel is the view. Perched on the very top of Castelmola, you have a view out over Taormina and the Mediterranean. So. That's the good stuff. The less appealing parts of this place were: making cintact with the hotel was not syraightdorward-we needed to gi to the taverna to get the key but this was not outlined, thete is no parking nearby, the staff were offhand and not really interested in welcoming us, the room was 70's retro style (needs refurnishing), the single beds were incredibly narrow, and the shower size was tiny-about 600 x 600 (too bad if you drop the soap). Not really good and not great value. If you can stay elsewhere, do.

This hotel has only two stars and it's far too few. I should give at least 3+ or even more, mainly because of the great view down to Taormina and the sea. The room was tidy and it was cleaned up every day. The safety box in one of the cupboards/closets was broken, but I felt safe all the time. never seen such a beautiful view before. The drop under our balcony was almost 70-80 meters, so if you are afraid of height think once again. The staff was friendly and helpful. We, me and my wife, really enjoyed our stay. Minibus up and down goes every hour and costs only 1,90 / return 3,80. I recommend this hotel.
