We have recently arrived home from a visit to Haida Gwaii. The Alaska View Lodge is a wonderful place to be and, yes, you can see Alaska from there, just barely. The manager, Neil, is a gracious host and a great cook. He makes you feel as though you were guests in his home.

I was looking for a quiet beach front room, and it was perfect. I was placed in the cabin since I wanted peace & quiet, and since it was the end ofthe season, everyone else was in the main lodge. Yes, there was a missing button on the sofa, but who cares...?? the Lodge Manager, Neil cooked up excellent breakfasts... More

Nice quiet spot on a gorgeous beach. Pleasant hosts. hearty breakfast. Loved seeing the sandhill cranes on the beach in the morning.. Room clean and comfy with a deck and a (non-functioning) hot tub but we are not hot tubbers. Liked having the bathrobes to lounge in.

Travelled to Haida Gwaii to explore the island and do some fishing. Alaska View Lodge is well situated on a great beach, mind you there are many great beaches on this island. The room was well taken care of and roomy. The staff is excellent and attentive to all your needs. The food was also a treat, very wholesome and... More

There weren't many places to stay in Masset, but this place is a great place. You can hear the sound of waves from your room. Also our room had a hot tub in the back deck. Soaking in the hot tub and see the blue sky with the sound of ocean. It cannot be better. After dinner at the Trout... More

My husband stayed here while on a work trip and had nothing but positive things to say. He stayed in the west guest house cabin. No complaints about the bed. The rooms do not have their own TVs but there is a TV to watch in the main lodge if you are interested. The staff were very friendly, inviting and... More

We arrived late in the season when many places were no longer open so we were very happy to find that The Alaska View Lodge welcomed us and our 2 dogs. The hostess, Cindy, was very gracious, the beds comfortable, great water pressure in the shower, and excellent breakfasts. The hiking, cycling, views, etc. in the area are all just... More

I don't know if it was the fabulous sunny weather during the 2 days we were at Alaska View or the pristine private beach a short walk from the lodge, or the peace and quiet that seemed to elude us in other accommodations, but this place was amazing. It would be the first place I would book if we return... More

We (my wife, youngest son and I) spent four nights in a HUGE beachfront cabin. We had a truly outstanding time walking the beach (Dixon Entrance), lounging in the private hot tub and just plain relaxing in a very isolated and beautiful place. A super comfortable lodging where we just wanted to "hang out". Nonetheless, there is lots of fascinating... More
