This is not the first time I have dined at the Wheatsheaf, this has been my third visit and each time i have been it has been very special. The food is fantastic along with great service and a good atmosphere. I have been too many good restaurants around Bath but for me the Wheatsheaf stands out amongst the crowd.... More

We had a lovely meal here, there were 6 of us, at the end of September. The food was fantastic, and service great. Bookings probably essential cos it's very popular. We'll be back. We were there in the evening but we'll definitely be back to eat outside in the lovely gardens one day. More

Just 15 minutes from the beautiful city of Bath, but miles away from the hustle and bustle. Great reception, cosy rooms, comfy bed and oustanding food. We would definately holiday again here. More

The Wheatsheaf evolved from farm to restaurant with rooms. Their regular menu features a very fine duck breast with orange rosti and even mid-week the restaurant attracts an appreciative crowd. If you stay overnight, an excellent breakfast awaits. At the foot of their beautiful garden is what they call The Shed that they have converted into three bedrooms. They are... More

We spent two nights here, keen to get away from London for a restful weekend. In summary, The Wheatsheaf delivered this. Combe Hay is a hamlet of beautiful houses and The Wheatsheaf has a great location. The garden is delightful for summer. The bar and dining areas very warm and welcoming. The rooms were simple yet stylish and calm, although... More

We came to The Wheatsheaf based on the many great reviews posted on Tripadvisor for a country inn offering al fresco dining near Bath. What a find!! First, the setting of this country inn is truly remarkable. It is nestled in the rolling hills just a few miles south of Bath, has a beautiful terrace and a garden full of... More

We spent a night at The Wheatsheaf enroute to Cornwall last week. We stayed in The Barn across the road from the pub. The room was warm and comfortable but could have done with a good dusting. We enjoyed the home made biscuits and good fresh coffee - but no milk in the room on arrival. The evening meal was... More

We arrived late and they were very accomodating in the restaurant with pushing the reservation back. Gave good directions over the phone due to diversion in Bath. Food was outstanding and their knowledge of wine and local produce was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was also outstanding and really enjoyable on the terrace on a fine day. HOWEVER... the mattress... More

We have just returned from a two night stay. The Wheatsheaf is a great little place for a quite weekend away, set in beautiful countryside with lovely gardens. We arrived early evening and were shown to our room -‘Buttercup’. It was a lovely little room with en-suite shower, equipped with a TV, plenty of storage, ‘Tuck box’, Tea & coffee... More
