My partner and I visited in low-season and hadn't booked but we were warmly welcomed just before reception closed at 8pm and were quickly allocated a room on the first floor. It was clean and tidy and had an enormous king-size bed with electric blankets (thank heavens as it was chilly outside). A great night's sleep with no noise disturbances.... More

This is a house divided into 3 apartments of which two were in use during our two night stay. We had the misconception that this was close to town and on the beach. We were on the ground floor with two bedrooms, a very big living room, kitchen and a nice bathroom. We walked a little around the neighborhood but... More

We enjoyed a one night stay at Easter time and had planned to stay longer but unforseen circumstances changed that. Our ground level standard unit was spacious and french doors opened out to a courtyard on this lovely sunny day. The place was quiet and restful and the only thing we were not expecting was that there was no sink... More

Nice owner operator, good location. Basic simple functional New Zealand motel. Clean & comfortable enough for an overnight or weekend stay. Some people would enjoy longer. Walking distance to everything. Shame about the guitar player at 1am, hopefully a one off!!

We stayed one night. They were very welcoming and the small spa welcome after a long day. I found the room rather basic and lacked what most New Zealand motels have - a separate sink unit. Although quite a large motel there are a lot of better ones in New Zealand.

We only needed 1 night's accommodation in Raglan & that was hard to find at height of season in B&B's or bachs. However the Sunset Motel was perfect for our needs. The King studio had good little kitchenette too. The owner was really friendly & helpful. Being so central was great too.

Rooms are large, just a bit 80's in their look and decor. With a refurb this place could be fantastic. Suggest you stay in a unit running along the Bankart side or in the inner court yard. We stayed in the block runs parallel to Wainui Road and had a bar (or party) raging until 4am. Plus beds are quite... More

We made reservations at this motel and were provided with lodging in a holiday home up the road with an ocean view instead of at the motel. This was great - fully equipped kitchen with a gas griil out on the deck overlooking the sea, a short distance from the town centre and the beaches. Andy, the manager, and his... More

Very similar to 'thejourneysofar' comments..... We stayed here for one night only after finding ourselves in Raglan on our 'random' road-trip and the motel was fine for what we needed. The rooms are large with simple cooking facilities but sadly the bed was uncomfortable and the towels had holes in them. However you can't beat the location - just around... More
