This home is old with ambiance. Irene is a gracious hostess, and her help with tickets and directions was appreciated. We felt welcomed. Irene cooks an amazing breakfast. I recommend this B&B stay to anyone wanting comfort and peace and quiet. We could see Newgrange from our bedroom window and from the front yard. Lovely home with very gracious hostess. More

What do you remember after your holiday if everything was great - the B&B lady - and you will remember Irene, who is helpful, friendly, jolly, good humoured and very welcoming. B&B in great location (nearly in Newgrange) clean, tidy, homely. Breakfasts nice. If you are in this area booked here and you won't be sorry. More

Arriving the evening before our visit to Newgrange was ideal. Irene phoned and arranged for an early tour of Newgrange with a discount. The Newgrange room had a double and twin bed in the main room and a twin in a small adjoining room, which linked to the bathroom. Looked like she spent a lot of time ironing the sheets... More

Very nice accommodations in an 18th century farmhouse. The view across the Boyne valley up to Newgrange was spectacular! Breakfast was great and the hosts were very friendly. Irene can arrange a discount for you if you are going to visit Newgrange or Knowth. She also recommended Monasterboice, a site that we had not included on our itinerary that is... More

Stayed two nights, great place to stay when visiting NewGrange, you can see the farm over the valley as you stand in front of the NewGrange monument. Irene is a lovely person and very conveniently organized the tickets for the visit to Knowth and Newgrange. Great to stay on a working farm, got a quick tour of the sheep and... More

We had two wonderful rooms, ours with a perfect view of Newgrange ( especially in the morning sun). Irene is a wonderful hostess, she really made us feel very welcome, we had a great Irish breakfast in the lovely dining room. She also booked us into a Newgrange and Knowth tour, so we didn't have to queue and called a restaurant... Of our 32 days in England, Ireland and Wales, our 3 days, 2 nights at Roughgrange Farm were some of our best. The location is outstanding, within view of Newgrange and several of the satellites, the farm is lovely, gardens gorgeous, the dogs friendly, and the food delicious. Best of all, however, was the truly warm and friendly owner/host. Irene... More

This is an absolute must stay location when visiting the Newgrange Center. This working farm is beautiful. The view of Newgrange itself is outstanding. The host was one of the nicest, most ‘at home’ person we encountered on our travels. She had extensive knowledge of the area. Our visit in her home was perfect. The rooms were clean, fully appointed,... More

We had a great stay at Roughgrange Farm. Irene is a great hostess! She and her husband even helped me with my family research. Wonderful breakfast. Comfortable room with great guide books. Friendly greeters, Penny and Tille, the Jack Russell terriers. Spectacular view of Newgrange. Hope we'll return soon! More

We stayed here for one night in August 2010 while we visited Newgrange. Ideally you would stay here the night before you visited Newgrange as the owners can arrange a special entry ticket for you to save queuing (just phone ahead and ask) but our itinerary didn't work out that way. We had a comfortable family room with a double... More
