We booked two rooms for one night. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, the showers delivered good hot water. Breakfast was great and freshly cooked. There were tvs and free wifi in the rooms. The heating worked well. For us, it ticked all the important boxes!

Its more of a room share than a B&B or hotel... proprietors not on site. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order, but greasy and presented with the finesse of a car crash. Room was comfortably furnished but single radiator did not heat the room adequate and was cold. Pricy for what was offered.

We take all criticism seriously, and always endeavour to improve our guests experience at our guest house. An 'average' rating on any review is not acceptable to us. I do not understand the reference to 'Room Share' which sounds to me like a dormitory or bed-sit. We have six individually styled and furnished en-suite rooms with all the amenities you... More

Was working in the area near Basildon, but didn't want to stay in the town itself. Frasers is located in a lovely little village around 15mins from Basildon. There is parking, the staff are friendly and welcoming and I even had my bags taken up for me. The room was cosy, warm and quiet. Both pubs are a walk away... More

I live no more than 40 minutes drive from Frasers. I had decided to visit Battlesbridge antique centre with my 11 year old son, and rather than drive and return the same day I wanted to stay overnight somewhere and have a relaxing time. To be honest the choice in the area is pretty limited if you are planning to... More

We went to a wedding in Feb and stayed at Frasers, we stayed in one of the lovely cottage rooms off of the main building, everything was very clean, greeting upon arrival very welcoming and was pleasantly pleased with the set up. In the morning I stupidly took a bracelet off, left it on the Window Ledge in the bathroom,... More

We first spotted Frasers when driving through Battlesbridge earlier last year and had tried to book unsuccessfully a couple of times. We visit our son and his family in Rayleigh several times a year and normally stay in local bigger hotels. We booked this time at short notice.and were unable to find any vacancies so tried Frasers. We only stayed... More

I stayed here for the night with my boyfriend, there was nothing nice to do in the town apart from sit in a quiet pub. The food was nice but that is all there was to do in the area. The room was very small and didnt feel clean. I have a dust allergy and did not stop sneezing &... More

Dear Guest, We are very disappointed to read your comments. You checked in mid afternoon, stayed for four hours using all facilities, including the bed, and did not report anything to us until after leaving therefore not giving us the chance to investigate or resolve your issues. We are in a village location adjacent to the Battlesbridge Antiques Centre, one... More

5 star it is not but is very clean and comfortable. We stayed there in February so it was not at it's best weather wise. Never the less we had a warm welcome by Georgi who gave us the run down on the local area. The Battlesbridge antique centre was only partly open, even so there was enough to look... More

Visited friends room briefly after night out @ The Hawk in Battlesbridge . They were staying in a stable annexe room which was clean & well appointed if a little on the small side but looked very comfortable. We were not able to see inside the main house as it was quite late, but that looked well appointed too. The... More

This small guest house is set in a small village at the head of navigation in the River Crouch in Essex. It is set midway between Chelmsford and Southend and has a single line rail link into central London. It has friendly staff and a cosy setting in this village turned antique centre. I have stayed here three times now... More
