Official Description (provided by the hotel):: Your hosts at Fraoch Lodge are Andy & Rebecca. The house is of a traditional Edwardian design, made of granite. Artifacts from their travels through Asia & Africa adorn the walls as do mountain pictures. Comfortable accommodation is provided in 6 twin rooms. Each bedroom has its own hand basin.There is a comfortable guest lounge, which is one of the highlights of a stay at Fraoch Lodge. Most guests very much enjoy the opportunity to sit by the open fire and share their experiences. I enjoyed this holiday immensely, the location was peaceful, the holiday was challenging and the experience was memorable, I would recommend this holiday to anyone looking for something abit different to the usual skiing trip. Off the mountain there are nature trails/cycle routes that go on forever with the town and train station being only about 20 minutes drive away... More

good location. awesome staff and good food. nice of andy to pick me up in aviemore and to give me full package for a weekend of climbing. excellent fire and selection of books in lounge! rebecca's venison for dinner was awesome. will definitely stay again

“A great week in the Cairngorms”

We travelled from Dublin the night before and had been on the road about 15 hours when we arrived into Boat of Garten and Fraoch Lodge. I was pretty tired and ready for a lie down but we were treated to a grand cup of tea and a bit of cake by the fire prior to being shown our room.... More

“Just the job”

The ideal blend between a hostel and a bed and breakfast, I found the place very homely and our hosts very welcoming, friendly and accommodating (for example, putting a good breakfast together, including homemade, toasted bread, at 7am). Would definitely stay here again.
