We usually stay here annually as it's location makes a handy base for visiting family who live locally. Ian (the owner) is very friendly, he always goes out of his way to welcome us, his wife usually makes us something pleasant to eat on arrival, (cakes etc). The surroundings are great. Lots of green open space, the dog loves it,... More

We stayed in Otter Cottage for four days with our baby son and were greeted by the famous warm scones - wonderful. The cottage has a rustic feel but was very clean and is kitted out with energy saving devices and there is extensive recycling. Maggie and Ian are very helpul and welcoming hosts and are mines of information. We... More

We stayed in a log cabin, one of three (out of sight of each other or any other habitation I think) for 10 days in September. The lodge was warm and comfortable with everything we needed, and we felt smug about using solar heated water and electricity from the turbine in the field (which wasn't noisy at all and we... More

We spent the most wonderful family week in Beech Lodge. The accommodation was excellent in every way, the whole atmosphere so peaceful, the scones delicious and the tour of the nature reserve really interesting and engaging. Thank you so much to Maggie and Ian for a fantastic week and we will be back again as soon as we can. Good... More

We booked this lodge as a 'retreat' from our busy lives and can honestly say it was perfect. We stayed in nuthatch lodge with our 2 children, aged 4 and 9 months. Ian and Maggie made travelling with a baby very easy by providing nearly everything we needed for the baby! A warm welcome, and delicious homebaked scones made our... More

My wife and I had a lovely 5day holiday staying in Otter Cottage and was exactly what we needed and wanted. Lovely small cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The log burning stove was lit every night and heated the whole downstairs very quickly. Ian re-filled the basket of logs in a moment’s notice every time. We... More

We had a lovely 6 days staying in Nuthatch Lodge - our very own wooden cabin with views of Dartmoor and roaming chickens! Maggie and Ian, the owners, were friendly and willing to help with anything we asked, lending us bikes (and a spanner to remove front wheels and get in the car), a map of Dartmoor and so on,... More
