Exotic location on top of the Sani Pass. Highest pub in Africa was nice. Dinner was well a well cooked simple buffett, lamb was great. Well stocked bar. The family room was big and ok during the day. The little antracite stove was effective when you sat in front of it. It cannot heat up the room. At 2900m with... More

Travelling on a budget we decided not to use the chalets but booked the Backpackers for 2 nights and being used to staying at mountain refuges in developing countries, we didn't except the Ritz. The pub was great, warm and cosy with excellent views and we greatly enjoyed hanging out here. Having to return to Backpackers sited some distance way... More

New management in place for a year is trying to get much right - not there yet. Great location; great transport service (use the Lodge to collect you from the SA border); great food for a lodge, but not great being required to eat first and expected to finish in an hour to allow for a second sitting, with little... we stayed at the back packers part of the lodge and this is just terrible. We all slept in our clothes. Also the price we payed for the night and the dinner (some chicken with rice and salad) was amazingly high. The breakfast was really good (also a little bit expensive) but the location is just amazing!!! The host helped... More

Top of the Sani pass - it doesn't get mush better than this! We stayed for just one night but we would have stayed longer if we hadn't been committed to our next stop. We stayed in one of the larger dwellings that could have accommodated 6 people in one 'room' - 2 double beds and two bunk beds. The... More

We stayed at the Back Packers. While we certainly didn't expect luxury, we did not expect blocked up toilets and bed bugs!!!! Some of us in our group are riddled with bed bug bites all over our bodies!!! Toilets in a disgusting state, not being cleaned regularly at all. Shower doors with no latches to keep it closed or hooks... More

Sani Top chalet now called Sani Mountain Lodge is slowly at the pace of Africa undergoing change. Roger and Jonathan left a legacy of course, a favorite 4x4 stopover, and the new owner from Maseru is rising to the challenge. He is aiming upmarket and despite the inevitable hitches, setbacks, and problems is trying to slowly upgrade the Sani Mountain... More

We stayed one night at the backpackers (as the chalets were fully booked). The price of ZAR 600 for 3 persons was overpriced for the quality (500 meters away from the main lodge). The pub was really nice (good atmosphere), the dinner buffet was overpriced and of mediocer quality. The terasse provides a stunning view down to the pass. All... More

We stayed one night at Sani Top Backpackers. It is definitely a wild spot and the nature is amazing. The dorm is like any dorm room would look like. Unfortunatly the bathroom facilities were horrific, no water, toilets that couldn't flush and dustbins that look it they never been cleaned. Management also not very helpful they look more intrested in... More

We travelled through Lesotho and had a long day to reach the lodge. There is no sign on the road and we nearly crossed the border and missed it. We found the rondavel adequate but not worth the money that we paid. Bathroom very basic! Lovely oven in the room which was great in the evening but cooked us in... More
