The gites have an excellent view out of the back windows. In ours both the living room and bedroom windows opened directly of the river and weir at the back of the property, just lovely. Very warm and welcoming hosts, Mike and Moira have some brilliant tails of french life. Peaceful and quiet area , very pretty, some lovely drives,... More

This hotel is so lovely and is a perfect base for a relaxing ski holiday. Although my husband and I stayed here in February 2012 half term, there were few children at the hotel which is something I look for in a holiday, being a teacher! Although this place is also child friendly as there was a nice family with... More

We stayed at the Auberge earlier this year for a ski break and we had an excellent time. Mike and Moira are extremely friendly and helpful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Mike kindly helped us out with our snow chains and directions to the local ski resort called Guzet. If you’re into skiing, this is the perfect... More

This is the ideal spot to go skiing in France. Forget the Alps - Guzet is a wonderful resort which is a mere 40 minutes drive from the beautiful Auberge de l'Arac. Mark and Moira are extremely hospitable with great tips on where to go for skiing and what to eat at the Auberge (I'd recommend the Magret dish although... More

We stayed in one of the gites associated with this inn and were so happy there my husband and I are counting the days until we can go back. Ours was one of four gites that the Hoskings have carved out of an old creamery just by the main house/inn. Our first night we arrived late and opened the window... More

We stayed in the small self contained cottages which back straight onto the river. Lovely location and easy access to some great walking trails in the Couseran. Ate one night at the hotel - no complaints. Place needs an injection of money and love for it to reach its real potential. Current uk owners are looking to sell.

Thank you for your review in which you have your opinions but you have stated as a fact that we are looking to sell and that is not true. Moira & Mike. More

Maybe I shouldn't call the Castet a backwater, but here, the gites actually back onto the water! It's beautiful - just lean out the window and watch dippers dive and wild trout swim by. Mike and Moira have got the formula right. The gites are simple but cosy; clean and comfortable, decorated with a Northern taste in mind. As hosts... More

Having meticulously planned our road trip through the South of France we decided to stay somewhere in the middle of nowhere to get away from the hustle of the cities. So going on some positive reviews (and a nice long drive from our lost stop Pau) we decided to book Auberge L’arac as it was in an interesting location which... More

We enjoyed our stay at this charming little hotel. Great value for money and friendly helpful owners. We had dinner and breakfast there which were both very good. The Auberge is easy to find, situated in a beautiful, if rather remote, area. The room was warm and clean, and the beds comfortable.

We spent 3 days here on a tour around France. We had a lovely stay and were made to feel very welcome. Our double room was clean and comfortable and the modern bathroom had an excellent shower. The English owners, Mike and Moira, were able to give us useful advice on good walks in the area. We ate at Auberge... More
