We stayed here for three nights in Feb 2013 and really enjoyed the experience. It was used as a base for touring Blyde River Canyon and the surrounding area and was ideally located for this. The town of Sabie is only a few kilometres away with good restaurants (Wild Fig Tree and Woodsman both recommended). Porcupine Ridge's setting is glorious-a... More

Our two nights at Porcupine Ridge were very pleasant. Our two hosts John and Janet were welcoming and efficient. The rooms were spotless and attention to detail was stunning, toiletries, chocolates, tea, coffee, sherry, rusks, nicely stocked bar fridge with ice cold beer. Our two hosts were able to give us excellent info on where to eat in Sabie and... More

We stayed at the Porcupine Ridge at the beginning of November for two nights. 5 minutes after we arrived there, we already felt at home thanks to the warm welcome of Janet and John. During these two days, our two hosts couldn't care more about there guests and couldn't be more supportive if there occured any problems. For example, another... More

I booked at Porcupine for the 28th and 29th November after seeing some good reviews on this website. The place was easy to find and we were received by John. John was warm and welcoming. It would have been great to know about the 500 to 1000m of gravel road to the guest house. When Janet came back, my wife... More

We booked a night here after flying to SA, so we could recover from the jetlag and feel fully refreshed when arriving at a sabi sands safari lodge. Easy to find and drive to from Nelspruit, the B&B has wonderful facilities and is in a beautiful location. The owners are very friendly and helpful, as our the 2 labrador dogs... More

My wife and I stayed at the Porcupine Ridge during a weekend in Sabie. Janet and John were delightful hosts and made us feel right at home. The amenities and ambience were very homely. The location only 4kms from Sabie was easy to find, and gave the sense of been in the bush a long way from civilisation, something I... More

We found Porcupine Ridge Guest House when we needed to pay a fleeting visit to Sabie on an accommodation booking site and were we grateful that we chose to spend our night with John and Janet (as well as Gerge, Grace and Mitzy - there people loving animals!). On arrival we realized that Porcupine Ridge is a wonderful homestead which... More

We enjoyed a couple of nights at Porcupine Ridge where we were made very welcome by Janet and John. Our room was a standard one, not huge but perfectly adequate and well equipped. The breakfasts were great especially the packed one we had on our last morning as our flight was very early. There is a lovely lounge if you... More

In 2010, when the South African World Cup had just begun, I had had the pleasure of staying with John & Janet in their lovely Porcupine Ridge guesthouse. During my 2011/2012 South Africa trip, together with my German friend Kai, I returned. Both British, they are products of their culture, with humour, warmth and convention as their forte. Should distance... More
