We chanced upon Celeste Mountain Lodge in December. We were looking for something much more simple whilst visiting Tenorio (which was well worth the visit and very untouristy) but stayed here as we were short on looking time. The design is modern and funky, so not exactly at one with the surroundings but I guess not every lodge can or... More

The Lodge This is a great eco-friendly place, just like everyone says. Cool location, very pretty views. Don't forget, however, that eco-friendly usually means low on luxuries. We did not need a coffee maker or a hair dryer but still felt the rooms were kind of bare. The water pressure is low, and it took 5-10 minutes for the water... More

My wife and I stayed in the Celeste Mountain Lodge on our honeymoon in August. The lodge is beautiful, nestled on the side of a mountain with an incredible 3k hiking trail in the jungle. We decided to stay in the lodge because we were on the way to the Tenorino national park which is only about 3k away. The... More

Look elsewhere if the idea of a stay without television or wi-fi or Hilton-style luxuries is a deal-breaker, but if not, know that this is a special, peaceful, place. Be prepared for stunning architecture, great conversation with guests, the caretaker and the owner, (who led our family on a brief but delightful night tour through the hotel's gardens to see... Upon arrival you'll be greedy by Joel (the owner, the concierge, the assistant, the visionary). If you want modern day technology, not only is this place not for you, but Costa Rica may not be for you. The Celeste mountain lodge will remind city folks of what they are missing. No tv, no Wi Fi not needed. The rooms are... More

The rooms are wondeful, comfortable, clean. The food is incredible and it is served in the "bed and breakfast sort of family style" (they even ring a bell!) The area is a little cold so bring a jacket. We had a wonderful time, the staff and owners are really great and helpful. Great for families or couples alone. Very quiet... More

There is no existing hotel category to do this amazing place justice!! First of all try to imagine a jungle retreat with the finest of fine French - Costa Rican fusion food using only fresh, local ingredients. Add to your vision extremely comfy beds, awesome panoramic views and the never-ending symphony of pure, undisturbed rain forest.. Top off your vision... More

Recently spent 2 nights at this Hotel during a 2 week birding tour. The location is excellent with well-maintained trails through temperate forest. The hotel is eclectic - the lights and furniture created from left-over building materials, but tasteful. The food is incredible, the best we had during our two weeks in Costa Rica - French influence, but wonderfully local.... More

Stayed for two nights. A friendly and accommodating staff. The best food I have ever had in Costa Rica. Atmosphere is sparse but efficient with furniture made from the left over material from the buildings construction. The rooms could use some regular chairs and maybe some more hooks on the walls for extra jackets, towels, or other items that you... More
