Celestun is off the beaten path and well worth visiting. It is very small and there are few people who speak English. The Flamingo trip available by the bridge is a must-see and very reasonably priced. The selection of hotels is minimal. The beach in front of Hotel Manglares is gorgeous!! Celestun was a great side trip from the city of Merida.
