“Wentworth Heights, Gore”

Having travelled from Christchurch to Gore, we received a lovely welcome with tea and homemade biscuits. Our host. Diane was lovely and made us feel at home. The bedroom was spacious and relaxing. We had a lovely breakfast, with choices. We later saw Dianes husband Barry as he is a fishing guide and had been with a client that day.... More

Barry and Diane are perfect hosts, making us feel that Wentworth Heights was a real home from home. Barry's knowledge (and, in my case, patience) was immense and Diane provided wonderful breakfasts and packed lunches for our days on the river. We arrived weary with one of us ill with flu. Barry's sense of humour and Diane's warm welcome were JUST what we needed. Wentworth is clean, well furnished, warm and home-like. Barry and Diane went out of their way to find a chiropractor for me, made a delicious breakfast and sent us on our way with fresh blueberry muffins. What... More

We spent several days fishing the rivers in the Gore area and found this to be an excellent base to operate from. The accomodations are excellent as were the breakfast meals. We met Diane and Barry whilst on a 15 day Trafalgar Tour of Spain in June 2011. Immediately we became friendly in a 'holiday' mode. They were wonderful company.
