We had the great good fortune spending three days in October 2019 at La Grande Quercia. The accommodations and surroundings were visually stunning and the hosts were, in a word, terrific. Russ and Sergio run this stylish B&B with great taste, finesse and a great sense of humor. We felt like friends, warmly received and very well attended t. It starts at check in and their good will persists through the day in big and little ways. They will take care of your accumulated dirties, refresh you with well chosen food and drink, direct you to special places, and be helpful anyway they can. Our accommodations were superb, tastefully and eclectically decorated, which was delightful. We enjoyed our breakfasts because of the company and freshly baked items they served. We were invited for dinner in their private quarters and they provided a meal worthy of Michelin stars. Sergio can provide cooking lessons if one is so inclined. Next time I will be sure to schedule time for that. This is a destination I can recommend to anyone seeking a high quality, authentic experience in a beautiful, unspoiled part of Italy. Thank you guys, Carol and Leonard

We stayed with Russ and Sergio for several nights in late October. Although the weather wasn’t the best, our stay at La Grande Quercia was! The accommodations were comfortable and private, and the breakfast was great - including coffee the way we like it 🙂. The guys are also interested in genealogy research, so it was fun sharing notes and tips with them. Russ and Sergio went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and by the time we left, we felt like we’d been friends for a long time. It is a wonderful place to stay, and we highly recommend it.

I would absolutely go back in a heartbeat. My stay was one of my best of my trip of a lifetime. Russ and Sergio made me feel like I was visiting family. The warmth and love they showed us touched and changed each one of us. The food was excellent. Fresh and expertly prepared. Our rooms were very nice and clean. They are quite knowledgeable of the area and are always willing to help if needed. I highly recommend staying here. This B and B will always have a special place in my memories and heart ♥️

We stayed for 2 nights and only wished it had been longer. The accommodations were pristine, nice and private. Our hosts, Russ and Sergio, were more than helpful. We had run into a couple of problems before we arrived there and they were more than willing to help us straighten them out, we are forever grateful. They also pointed out restaurants, and different points of interest that were right up our alley. This place is an absolute must and a perfect delight. hope to return and stay longer

We loved the BnB and our stay in Abruzzo. Not only are the accommodations clean and comfortable, but they are also beautiful. The surrounding mountains are picturesque and the people are lovely. Russ and Serg connected us with family in Forca Di Valle and we are eternally grateful for their organizing of our meeting. We felt like their family the whole time as well. Their meals are of excellent quality and served family style with them. You won’t be disappointed with your stay! I hope they remain life long friends!

Our group of six recently stayed with Russell and Sergio, owners and operators of this B&B, for four days and nights. The beauty of La Grande Quercia and the kindness of these two gentlemen is unparalleled. I’m honored to say we arrived as strangers and left as family, not just with Russ and Serg, but with my biological family! Meeting my cousins was one of the best experiences of my life.❤️ If you have dreamed about finding family in Abruzzo, allow these gentlemen to assist. They are sincerely invested in helping family find family. (Check out La Grande Quercia’s web page for more information.) The rest is just icing on the cake. Delicious breakfasts of homemade breads and pastries, assorted meats and cheeses, fruit and an assortment of freshly squeezed juices, yogurt and fixings, with the very best cappuccinos. If you like to cook and not just eat, don’t miss out on a cooking class with Sergio! Some obligatory details: Warm and friendly surroundings. Very clean. (One of my MUSTS!) Well appointed rooms. Free wi-fi. Beautiful solar heated swimming pool. I give this establishment and it’s owners a standing ovation with my unreserved recommendation!

We stayed for two nights with Russell and Sergio and had a great time. They were so helpful in recommending places to visit and places to eat. Our room was extremely comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good with some lovely homemade food. They were recommended to us by friends and we wouldn't hesitate to endorse their recommendation. The property is well placed for trips into Teramo and into the beautiful Gran Sasso mountains.

Our visit was perfect in every way! Sergio and Russ were the most amazing hosts! We woke up to fresh baked homemade bread every morning and quiche with the most flaky crust and filled with fresh ingredients from the garden. The rooms were IMMACULATE and the property is beautifully maintained with olive and fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. They gather up all of the fresh ingredients to use for our breakfast every morning! Russ speaks English so we were able to communicate prior to our visit to make sure everything was perfect! We arrived late but were greeted at the door by Russ and Sergio and we had a bottle of wine and snacks waiting for us in our room. I couldn’t ask for anything more!

Unbelievably wonderful experience - the B&B itself is a marvelously well appointed place with comfortable, spotless rooms and large, well equipped private bathrooms, but the whole experience is really about Russ and Sergio. Two very affable and capable gents running the place make all the difference in the world. From fresh-baked breads and pastries made on site to olive oil and fruit preserves from the estate, there's great pride in everything done well and made authentically. These fellows are very helpful in you're in Abruzzo to trace your family history or if you have questions about what to do and what to visit locally. They'll try their best to help you whatever you're up to. Our stay was marvelous and we plan to visit again and stay there. If you speak English, there is no language barrier; Russ is a Brit expat and Sergio spent years in London, so his English is also excellent. I would recommend this accommodation over any other in the Teramo Area.
