We stayed one night at Oceanic hotel and had a wondeful time! Khor Fakkan is a good driving distance from abu dhabi and dubai without the headache of immigration to get to oman. We stayed in the Oceanic Hotel as they were offering a discounted rate of AED 300 per room. We had take a room on triple sharing basis and the rooms were quite good. Not so bad hotel but the rooms are not luxurious. The scene there is very nice. The stuff are not so friendly. The food is very good. A day-use is enough or a couple of hours at the cafe / main restaurant.

I've stayed in some questionable places, but this was by far the worst. It was filthy. We just about managed to sit on the sofa in our room (dubiously perched would be a better description). Spent a couple of nights here. We were on a diving trip and needed some where close to the wharf. The hotel building is old, really old but nicely renovated. You can expect the same standards in terms of service and quality from other newer 5 star hotels.
