Stayed one night at Kauri House Lodge, a faithfully maintained Edwardian kauri villa. Everything perfectly matched right down to the silver butter knife with the breakfast bacon and eggs. Owner Doug's knowledge of New Zealand period furniture, bush conservation and farming was an unexpected bonus. Highly recommended.

This lodge is wonderfully unique. It has so many wonderful artifacts, interesting antiques...AND a delightful owner! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Doug is an excellent host, and it was fasinating to talk with him. The rooms were clean, comfortable and charming. Staying here, and meeting Doug, was one of the highlights of our 6 week New Zealand trip!
