I was passing through and decided to stay at Murphy's Hotel. I found my room very clean & spacious and my bed was very comfortable. I also ate in the bar and had a lovely chicken maryland. Any of the staff I encountered were courteous and friendly. I would definetly stay again if my travels take me near Sligo again.... More

great Irish welcome from Paul who wants to ensure you have a great stay. Tubber is a nice central town with good selection of small shops and restaurants . Great place to let the kids have a bit of a wander round by themelves as it feels very safe and friendly. Rooms are HUGE with decent telly, heating and tea/cofffee facilities... More

I was there at the South Sligo Summer School date. Centralistic for everything, kindly stuff - helpful one, large and comfortable rooms, good and homemade food along the day, exciting traditional music and sessions, free wifi. More

Stayed in Murphys recently and have to say I was very disappointed when compared to our last stay there last year. The room was very basic, it was freezing when we went into the room and had to turn on the electric heater to heat up the room, no remote control for the very few channels on the tv. When... More

We were making our way across Ireland, enroute to a wedding in Sligo and needed to stop for the night. We attempted to stay in quite a few 'small towns' before we arrived in Tubbercurry. So murphy's was our 3rd viewing. What a find! Outstanding value for money, excellent food, great advice on how to spend the evening from the... More

Our family and friends group of 7 adults and 6 teens recently spent the night at Murphy's while visiting the area for a wedding. We were delighted with the large rooms with every amenity you could possibly need, We enjoyed our breakfast and dinner one evening and the lively music in the pub. For those of us who retired early,... More

Murphy's is situated right in the center of Tubbercurry. The food is great, rooms are really spacious and friends of Irish Music can find three sessions at the same time with a little luck. (And for people who don't like Irish music: No music could be heard in my room, so sleeping was fine, too.) People at Murphy's are super-friendly,... More

Murphys Hotel is a great, centally located hotel. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and very clean. The water is piping hot and the central heating fantastic. We could not fault anything about Murphys. The staff are pleasant and helpful and food is served virtually all day either in the bar or restaurant. The bar snacks are good value and... More

I'm not sure that the previous reviewer was staying at the same Murphy's Hotel that we stayed at!! Myself, my wife and our 12 year old son have just spent a very pleasant few days in Tubbercurry at Murphys Hotel and really enjoyed our stay and also had two wonderful evening meals at the Cloonkeelane Restaurant that is part of... Far from receiving a warm welcome we found the newly renovated hotel to be cheaply renovated, lacking atmosphere, very cold, dirty and no Irish welcome. Our room was freezing. We turned on the hair dryer and blower in the bathroom and kettle to try to get warm. Our bedding was disgusting with evidence of blood on the matress protector (visible... More

We have been taking in guests for nearly twenty years; previously as a simple bed and breakfast with only four rooms and have added to this over the years and in July 2006. We opened as a 17 bedroom hotel and last year we got our 3 star rating. This is a family owned and managed hotel and we do... More
