Booked late via laterooms. Lovely Hotel with new owners who try very hard to make sure your stay is pleasant. Great lounge with log fire for pre-dinner drinks. Extensive menu at reasonable prices. Service from all staff very good. Would definitely stay again.

Stopped for dinner. Hotel has great character and ambience. Our party had 3 excellent meals not one could be faulted. Pheasant, lamb and fillet steak. Portions were sensibly healthy. Only downside was coolness of room temperature so take a pullover even though roaring log fires . Would definitely return.

The house is in a great location, and has some really nice people running it. A lot of the decor is a bit tired, but if you appreciate the wooden pitch pine and grand plaster mouldings, then a bathroom suite from the 80's doesn't seem to matter too much. Very nice and friendly authentic country hotel. Food and drink was excellent, staff very attentative. Only thing missing was a shower, (room had a bath). All in very impressed and would certainly recommend.
