Greatly enjoyed lunch today - delicious food - well prepared and presented by the attentive and caring staff. Terrific traditional ambience with new modern loos etc! One of the very best pubs in the county.

We thought we would try lunch at the Saxon Inn after reading previous reviews and we were not disappointed. Friendly staff, good selection of meals to choose from, generous portions and lovely homemade puds!

Stayed for one night on business. Very welcoming hosts and seemed genuinely happy to help. Food was good quality but not pretentious with plentiful helpings (couldn't manage a pud!) Room was clean, warm and comfortable. Would not hesitate staying here again, hopefully in the summer as the beer garden looks great.

About a mile out of the village along a dark lane so approach slowly if you don't want to miss it.
