Stayed in this hotel for one night, rooms are nicely furbished, but smell of smoke, although we had a non-smoking room. Free WiFi, great shower, includes safe, minibar, comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet was extensive and very good. Plenty of parking space. Highly recommended and excellent value for money (we paid €72 for one night incl. breakfast).

This was our second time at De Gouden Leeuw. The rooms are clean and spacious. The food and service is outstanding and there is a pleasant atmosphere especially in the summer time. The hotel's leadership will provide assistance if needed to resolve any issues you may have.

Voorschoten is the birthplace of the van der Valk hotel chain, but since the old man died and the sons have been running the business, the hotels are going downhill. We stayed for a couple of nights and were delighted with the room (410), the breakfast which we had at around 1030 on the Sunday (very accommodating!), and the staff who were efficient and friendly. Competitive price and relaxed atmosphere. No, it's not 5 star, but it's welcoming and comfortable.

Nice rooms, privacy, quite location. Very proper place if you have to do business in Leiden or Den Haag.

If you're feeling slightly blue, stay out of this hotel as you will leave positively suicidal. I checked in and was given a room with poo stains in the toilet, the entire room was sticky, and nothing worked properly.
