We enjoyed a 3day stay at Capernwray House visiting my son at nearby Nether Kellett. The best b and b we have stayed in.Our room was spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. Our welcome tea and cake was delightful and the breakfasts magnificent. Would like to go back again in the future.

I reviewed Capernwray House a couple of years back, and felt it was time for an update after our recent annual visit. In some ways I'm reluctant to do so, 'cos being a selfish so-and-so I'd really like the place to ourselves! In all seriousness I'd just like to say that Mel and Roy still combine the highest standards of... More

Our son has lived in Carnforth for the past 10 years and we visit him regularly. We have stayed at several establishments during that time and Capernwray House is by far the best. After a strenuous hill walk on a hot day we were given a great welcome by Roy and a refreshing pot of tea and cakes served in... More

Chosen initially for an overnight stop on the journey north, mainly for its proximity to the M5 Capernwray House turned out to be an absolute gem. Roy and Mel could not have made us more welcome and their lovely home deserved more than just a one night stay. We can not recommend it highly enough!

We travel up to the Highlands once a year and nowadays find the journey so tiring we take a break on the way up and back. By staying at Capernwray we don't just make life easier, we extend the pleasure of the holiday. Once we found Mel and Roy's B&B, so easily reached from the M6, we had no reason... More

Stayed here 2012 for an overnight visit....and realised we had found something special in both the house and hosts Mel and Roy so went back again for a longer stay when we had the opportunity this year. We found this time all that we found the last; a warm welcome with a cuppa and great muffins on arrival, fantastic hosts... More

It really is all that the reviews say right down to the personalised breakfast. The house in its own peaceful grounds offers large luxuriously appointed rooms with open views and is ideally placed for some great cycling (or walking) in attractive countryside.

The house is a lovely modern property in a very quiet position but well situated to visit north Lancashire and the southern lake district. The hospitality of the owners is truly outstanding and I can recommend a holiday here without any reservation whatsoever.
