If you want to take your beloved dog on holiday with you but still have the luxury of hotel facilities then this is the place to go. Fabulous setting with lovely grounds, plenty of space all around for your dogs. Dogs are around the pool, indoor and out, in the restaurant and bar, basically wherever you are. Facilities are comfortable and clean and you wouldn't know that there were dogs about the space(no odours). Food in the restaurant is very good, I can definitely recommend the soups. The staff were super friendly and helpful and nothing was any trouble. They arrange excursions for dogs and their owners and the dog exercise play area was always busy. Have to mention the resident Basset hound is adorable. Definitely worth a stay.

We've stayed the forth time at Magdalena's and were again very pleased. We especially enjoyed the great meals, an overhanging buffet for breakfast each morning, a smaller, but satisfieing snack bar in the afternoon and alternating buffets and 4-course meals each evening. We booked a Panorama Suite, which are a bit more expensive but worth each Cent for the extra space and the marvelous view at the alpes. The swimming pool sharing the same view is another accomodation we've used each day. Because of the great weather we didn't use the large spa that often. A special highlight we would like to recommend is the wine-tasting offered by the landlord. Last but not least, it's an extremely dog friendly hotel, which our bearded collie enjoyed, too. Dogs may stay alone on the guest room or accompany their owners in the dining room. There is a dog playground at the garden as well as a range for them by the hotel. The local basset hound gets along very well with any guest dog.

First, let me write about the best fact of the hotel, then I will go into the other details: One day our dog escaped from the room, and wandered outside the street. Immediately the reception noticed it and brought our dog back into the room. Additionally, when we left the hotel, I realised that I left my ring in the room, they immediately contacted me when they found it and one day later I got my ring back in the post. Things like the honestly and friendliness of this hotel are priceless and for that I have given the hotel a review of 5 points! We are frequent travellers and places like this one are hard to find! The hotel was perfect in every aspect, let me start with the arrival... Upon arrival we were friendly greeted in reception and given goodies for our dog. We were also greeted by Basti, the hotel's dog who is the cutest dog ever. The room: The room we stayed was big, it was a panorama suite, which had a nice view, a big bed and a sofa bed were my children slept. The bathroom was amazing, it was very modern and spacious, it had a big bath tub and a walking shower. The restaurant: Our dog was welcomed in the restaurant, as they have an unique separate for dogs and their owners. The selection at the buffet was good and breakfasts were plentiful with lots of variety. The service was also very friendly. Wellness: The mixed sauna is also great, they have many different varieties and also an infrared cabin. The swimming pool is clean and fun for the children. Dogs: there is a dog park where the dogs can exercise unleashed The area: There are plenty of things to do for the whole family, from walks in the woods, to alpine skiing, to bob sledging to the amazing ice caves in Hintertux. One cannot get tired of it as there are plenty of different things to do every day in the Zillertal valley everyday even in bad weather. I will certainly go back to the hotel!

There is nothing more I could ask from a hotel during holiday. Staff attitude - friendly and helpful. Room - spacious with many nice touches.. from the arranging of the linen in heart-like shapes.. complimentary friuts and water.. bathrobes and slippers for the SPA and so on.. SPA - just wonderfull.. 2 types of sauna, 2 types of steam bath, wonderful pull with massage jets and very warm even though it is mainly outside. Location - quiet and calm.. The restaurant - everything was so tasty.. great choice of meals, great attitude.. only downfall - got some extra kg from eating too much :) The first impression of the room might be not so great, but it is actually great.. Do not expect luxury furniture.. might look a bit old, but it is traditional and brings warm feelings every time you enter it. Overall I would defenately go back.

Stayed at this hotel during a skiing holiday in Feb 2012. Excellent location for access to the Hoch Zillertal valley ski area and only an hour drive from Innsbruck airport. The hotel was everything we had hoped. Very clean, friendly staff, exceptionally big bedrooms with lounge area for relaxing after a hard days ski. The food was first class, including breakfast and evening meal. Was was unexpected but welcomed, was the afternoon buffet on returning from a day on the slopes. This included either cakes or cold meats and a warm drink. The evening meals were either set menu or a buffet, both of which were always good quality with a reasonable choice. Only down side was smoking in the bar, however you could sit in the lounge area and have a drink. The outdoor pool was a bit cold, however this did not stop the kids. Not the cheapest hotel, but would is still good value.

We were welcomed by a friendly receptionist who gave us a glass of sparkling wine. We had 3 rooms and they were all of a different quality. One was a large very modern suite, one was a large slightly dated double and one was a very dated small twin that I didn't think was up to 4 star standard. (Not sure if they are slowly updating the rooms, if they aren't then they should if they want to keep their 4 stars). Our room had a balcony and was kept clean by the friendly housekeeping staff. The Bathroom was small and only had a shower. The Rooms come with bathrobes and extra towels for use in the spa. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room. Only way to get a coffee is to buy it in the restaurant. The restaurant is quite big and has lots of windows to make the most of the views. The food was plentiful and very good quality. The breakfast buffet is huge with a very good choice to suit all tastes. During the afternoon there are hot and cold snacks laid on and each evening the menu has a different theme. There was a problem with one of the vegetarian choices one evening, and the restaurant staff on duty didn't handle the situation very well. (Out of character really as all the staff are very friendly and helpful) We complained to reception (one of the family members who own and run the hotel) who apologised and gave us some wine and beer to make amends. One of our party had a birthday and they decorated the table and made an extra fuss of us, which was very nice. During breakfast one day the owner was sitting and talking to some guests at the table next to us and she started smoking (restaurant is supposed to be non smoking) which I thought was a bit rude. One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was for the spa facilities. They have a heated indoor/outdoor pool, choice of 5 different steam/sauna rooms an infra-sauna, plus lots of showers and a couple of rest/relaxing areas. There is fruit, tea and cold mountain spring water to enjoy. It got quite busy and a little bit noisy from people who obviously weren't used to spa etiquette. This is a mixed spa where you are expected to not wear swimwear whilst using the saunas (there are multi-lingual signs stating this). This was ignored by some of the Italian and Russian guests who refused to remove their swimwear. There is a free ski bus that stops outside the hotel and there are heated storage areas for your ski gear. The hotel organises some trips in the local area and there is free wifi in the reception area or paid Internet of you have forgotten your laptop or smart phone.

After many trips to Austria staying in various hotels my wife and I decided to return for our annual ski holiday in our favourite destination, the beautiful mountains in the Tirol .After careful selection we settled on staying at the Magdalena hotel. When we arrived at the reception we were welcomed by a charming receptionist who offered us a glass of prosecco which we sat and enjoyed while she quickly and efficiently checked us in.The level of service at the hotel is very high and focussed on the guest in a very pleasant way, the food was very nice and varied with different themes, the ski bus stop was just outside if you wanted to do you own thing but there was also a very good ski program set up by Hannes who we believed to be the son of the house. Hannes was very enthusiastic and seemed a great asset to the team. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We have been fortunate enough to have experienced many fine things in our lives and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Fantastic. Mike & Jolanda Sheers

We have been there for a ski trip, the hotel itself is very good, the double room Magdalena was really double, it had two rooms, like a little apartment! All spotless clean and well maintained. Very quiet. The SPA is also nice, with a swimming pool partly indoor. The restaurant is outstanding. The staff is nice, friendly and helpful. Great view, as there are few buildings around. I would have rated 5 if it would have been closer to the cable cars. Nevertheless, the bus stop is in front of the hotel and the trip is max 10 mins, not too crowded. To summarise, if you don't mind using the bus, I highly recommend!

We were very pleased with this hotel. They picked us up from the local station. The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is beautifully located with gorgeous views up and down the valley. It is within a few minutes of a bank, tourist info office and the zillertalbahn station in Reid, which makes getting around easy if you don't have a car. The staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. There are free excursions organised daily and also events in the evening. The spa facilities and pool were also very good. The hotel is not so large to have lost a personal touch and the hotel owner was very friendly and was passionate about the hotel and keen to help the guests in any way. She advised us on day trips for example. The food was also good. We would definitley go back. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. Have no reservations about recommending this hotel.
