Coral Rock is the place to go for relaxation! The hotel is located in a quiet area, and you practically have the beach and sandbar to yourself! Meals are also really good at the restaurant, which has the most beautiful view over the sea, and there is a great vibe, with the restaurant staying open until late at night. The... More

We stayed at the Coral Rock for three nights, and we experienced a mixture of both fantastic and unpleasant things. What's great about this place is the location in the south of Jambiani, on a rock in a beautiful setting and with a magnificent seaview. The small pool is great. The food is good. Staff is friendly. Snorkeling with Captain... More

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I've been the MD of Coral Rock for 7 years and I can honestly tell you that this is the first time I've heard of or seen a review mentioning cockroaches in the room. We fumigate 4 times a year and we have spray in each room for guests to use. That being said, if... More

We have been to Zanzibar east coast on the several times and this time, New Year 2012, we stayed in Jambiani. We had a nice time at Coral Rock. Our banda (room) had a good standard, i.e. AC, ceiling fan, king size bed á la Zanzibar, a bathroom with working shower and outside a private patio with sea view. Restaurant... More

We went to Zanzibar at the End of April 2011 and stayed at Coral Rock hotel for 10 nights. After reading some bad reviews on trip advisor I was a bit worried but becuase it was a bit cheaper than the other hotels we chose to go there anyway and I am so glad that we chose Coral Rock. I... More

Arguably the best view on the island, and lovely little infinity pool By FAR the worst food service I've received anywhere in the world, and I've seen more than 50 countries 2 hour standard wait for dinner and lunch became upsetting after a couple of days This was the same for all the other guests, and the staff could not... Hi Klaus, thanks for your feedback. Interestingly enough, a couple of years ago we implemented a system whereby the time of the order is written on the slip when the waiter takes the order. We now also have a CCTV system that is able to accurately timestamp the exact time of order, the exact time the order goes to the... More

The flight to Zanzibar island was exciting; the view from the place was quite magnificent. Our drive from the airport to Coral Rock Hotel took approximately 1 hour. Jambiani is a fishing village, and to get to the hotel, once needs to ride through the locals' village. The accomodation is actually in bungalow format; these bungalows are neatly kept and... More

Dear Olivia. Thanks for your feedback. Reading your review it was apparent that this may have been a mixed review of the hotel and of Zanzibar itself. Having been a tourist to Zanzibar for the first time myself 7 years ago I can understand the difficulty 1st time tourists to Zanzibar have when reviewing a specific hotel in Zanzibar. Let's... More

To get here from stonetown we paid 40,000 tsh to our driver. It took around 2 hours. Once you get to Paje they just keep following that main road all the way to what seems like another 20min drive. We pulled in through a typical Tanzanian village and caught glimpses of the ocean between houses and were breathless. Arriving for... More

Totally recommend this lush beach haven. After travelling much of East Africa this jewel of Jambiani provided total respite. The beach is stunning. Emerald waters and expanses of white beach are textbook paradise. The accommodation and restaurant are perched over a supreme panorama of the Indian ocean. The food was a gastro treat and i indulged in many treats. The... More
