We've chosen Matlock Bath to be our base for exploration of the Peak District, and it would not be an overstatement that the Hodgkinson's Hotel will be the most bright and warm memory that we bring home from that trip.

After being let down by our hotel in Ashbourne we drove to Matlock looking for alternative accommodation. It was Bank holiday Friday and we were getting a bit anxious. We were told we could check-in from 2 but go no response when we rang the bell so had to explore Matlock Bath with all our bags. That said the rooms are really nicely decorated and the building is beautiful. Breakfast was a feast and great vegetarian option.

My boyfriend and I stayed here over the Easter weekend. We had a lovely 2 night break and loved all of the detail in the rooms and hotel. Our dog came along was given a blanket and bowl too-this shows how lovely they are here! The breakfast was SUPERB.I would highly recommend.
