My husband and I recently spent 7 nights at the Four Seasons Costa Rica. We have traveled all over the world staying at luxury hotels and it was one of our BEST hotel experiences we ever had. It is located in the 1,400-acre Peninsula Papagayo with lush landscaping. There are beautiful accommodations, impeccable service, and fabulous food and resort grounds not to be believed! The resort is truly breathtaking! What made this hotel so special? ACCOMODATIONS: The rooms are stunning with great views facing the ocean. The bed was so comfortable with the finest linens. Rooms have upscale amenities and marble bathrooms. We stayed in a one bedroom canopy suite with a pool. We also viewed the entry level rooms and they were also lovely and spacious. The welcome treats were so delicious too! Housekeeping was amazing. Our suite was cleaned to perfection twice a day. FOOD: The hotel has six restaurants to choose from with extensive menus. The restaurants include Italian, a Steakhouse, Mediterranean, Latin Grill and Sushi/Tapas. The food was the absolute most delicious we had at any hotel. For breakfast there was a large buffet and also a la carte. The atmosphere at all the restaurants is beautiful. The service was exceptional! We ate all our meals at the hotel. Book your restaurants with concierge in advance to get the times you want. SERVICE: All the staff were extraordinary with the best attitudes and with big smiles on their faces. THE BEACH: There are two beautiful sand beaches and we went swimming every day. There are first class, comfortable padded lounge chairs by the beach. THE POOLS: There are 3 large pools to choose from also with very comfortable lounge chairs and beautiful landscaping. We especially enjoyed the new adult pool. THE SPA: World class gorgeous spa. We had massages and facials. The therapists were amazing! Make sure to make your spa appointments in advance to choose when you want to go. ACTIVITIES: The hotel has complimentary activities every day including , Chocolate & Rum Tastings, Mixology Classes, Guided Kayaks, Paddle Boarding, Snorkeling Tours , Cooking Demonstrations Guided Nature Walks and e-bikes. Be sure to do the “Trail of the Giants” complimentary tour where you are given a golf cart to follow the guide through the beautiful grounds of the Peninsula Papagayo. It was so much fun! You can sign up for all above activities day before at concierge desk. There is an extensive list of tours to take outside of the resort. One that is special that is only a 15 minute buggy ride away is the obstacle course and 7 zip lines! There is also Jet skiing, horseback riding, atv rides, mountain biking, surfing classes, scuba diving, tennis, yoga and fishing experiences. There is even an 18 hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer. These can all be booked with the concierge team. FOR FAMILIES: There is a kids club and Teen Center. A great resort like the Four Seasons Costa Rica could never be so special without the guidance of the General Manager, Ian-Robert Ciappara. He met us when we arrived at the hotel. Ian is engaging and always present. We had many great conversations with him and truly adored him. Four Seasons is lucky to have such an incredible person managing the resort. It was our first time in Costa Rica. We loved the Four Seasons so much we have already made reservations to come back for Thanksgiving with our grown children and grandchildren. During holiday seasons they have all kinds of special events, dinners etc. We were there for the NFL Super Bowl. They set up a huge screen on the beach with tables and a BBQ! It was fabulous event! If you are are looking for a MAGNIFICENT resort in Costa Rica that is pure luxury than your only choice should be the Four Seasons Costa Rica. It is rated 5 stars by Forbes Travel Guide- the travel industry’s highest rating for luxury hotels. It is surely PARADISE! I always like to thank the staff that made our stay so special. Lobo- the bellman who explained everything in our suite and even set up my husband’s computer. The buggy drivers who pick you up from your room, take you to dinner etc. (if you don’t want to walk) Thank you to Rudy’s, Javier, Luis, Carlos, Isaaac, Erick, Ozman, Jorge and John for your wonderful service. Our waiters at Pesce- Walter, Oscar, Merlo and Royner. At Bahia- Javier. At Nemare- Mocnio. Breakfast at Bahia – Orlando, Lyna, Gipsy, Alberto, Charlie and Sharon. Thank you all for your attentive and excellent service to us. At the adult pool and lounges we had great service by Alejandro, Karina, Jokzan, Ulisos and Andrea. The pina coladas were delicious! The housekeeping staff that serviced our suite was exceptional. I had the pleasure of meeting Norma one of the Housekeeping Directors who was so lovely. She was checking our room to make sure everything was perfect! Spa therapists: Marlene, Claudia, Jenny and Desiree. Thank your for the amazing massages and facials. Thank you to Pierre/Resort Manager, Jose/Guest Services Manager, Francisco/Director of Food & Beverage, Sonia/Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, Emiliano/Executive Chef and Giovanni/Restaurant Manager at Pesce for all the attention you gave us.
