We enjoyed our one week stay, the place is so bucolic and quiet. Spacious room (re-done in a modern art style inspired by Pierre Soulages), view at the Dourdou river and the woody countryside.Just to mention that bedroom and bathroom are one ! Wonderful moments in the restaurant : the seared duck foie gras ! Very good advice from the... More

As such, Conques (Aveyron, France) speaks for itself – the old city is a pure jewel, and hiking / tourism facilities in the area are also really great. The “world of Herve Busset” (as he refers himself to the place) has really two sides to my view. The Restaurant is great – the food is very creative, excellent and also... More

My wife and I stayed au Domaine de Cambelong one night, and ended up going back there TWICE with friends during that Aveyron visiting week-end. The hotel is set in an amazingly bucolic place, with so much charm and calm for it. How about the noise of a river and frogs for "atmosphere" ! Then the old stonebuilt watermill has... More

n the beginning of September we book a gastronomic stay at this hotel-restaurant. The check-in was very courteous. The room was okay and very clean for about EUR 250 per night excluding breakfast (!) but there were no glasses which we could use to drink from. Only 2 plastic bekers in the bathroom. No flowers, no fruit, no minibar. In... More

Moulin de Cambelong We arrived here after a week touring France. The wedding in Cahors had been blissful and a few days wandering around the Medoc had been great if a little tiresome for the driver, but we were looking forward to the finale of our holiday – two days at Moulin de Cambelong in anticipation of a bit of... What a location...beautiful! However I suspect the hotel is not what it used to be and is in need of a real shake up. It is WAY! too expensive for what you get. We were upgraded cause no one else was there to a river front room which I believe would have cost double what we actually paid....had we been... More

This gem of a hotel next to the river Dourdou would be a perfect honeymoon spot. It's in the most beautiful mountainous landscape; we visited as tourists on the way to Paris and as a pilgrim to the relics of St. Faith in the village church. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we felt like royalty in the elegant... More

Aside from the lovely setting next to a rushing river, this hotel was a terrible letdown. There was no welcome whatsoever when we arrived, and then our expensive room was musty and dirty. The Michelin-starred restaurant was underwhelming as well--under-seasoned food in an over-lit dining room that looked like something you'd expect at an airport, and the same cold, haughty... More

Keep your eyes peeled for the small sign annoucing that hotel is near. This small hotel/inn is a beautiful place to stay, relax, and enjoy the solitude and beauty of the surrounding area. It is on the road to Conques and is only a few kms away from that bustling tourist attraction. The Moulin de Cambelong has nicely appointed rooms... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
A charming residence in Conques in AveyronThe story started in 1999 when we fell under the spell of this former chestnut and walnut flour mill with the village of Conques at its door, nestled in a veritable verdant oasis overlooking the Dourdou river.Over the years we have renovated it to create a place of authenticity and comfort. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere has always been our priority, which is why we decided to keep our accommodation to just nine rooms with seating for 25 people in our restaurant. You will feel completely at home, with Gault Millau restaurant service. We look forward to seeing you in the very near future."Dominique & Hervé Busset ... more   less
