Good place to stop in close location to Aoraki/Mt Cook. The chalets were very neat and clean and comfortable. Had facilities to cook microwaved meals and also have our own breakfast. Staff very very friendly and were big help retrieving my camera which I left up the mountain. It was much appreciated. Recommend this place to stay in

We settled on these after learning all the accoms in Mt. Cook village were booked, and were pleasantly surprised to find these clean, fully loaded chalets an hour away. We had to leave early the next morning so they shaved an hour off of the day. Friendly mom n' pop owners, very clean, AMAZING beds. Big kitchen.

We stopped here to break up the long drive between Queenstown and Christchurch and it was an enjoyable place to visit. After a mix up with our chalet we were given a bigger family chalet which had plenty of room and comfortable beds. The chalet were a bit dated, but were clean.

Had a great stay. Was very comfortable and clean and a great deal. Comfy beds and great customer service. The motel was in close location to all the amenities. Not a far drive from both lake tekapo and mount cook.

Steam was in the laundry room - it was that point in the trip where we needed to refresh our luggage contents. Our chalet was good value and met all our needs. Twizel itself is like a remote motorway service area en-route to Mt Cook

Stayed here last night , great to be able to bring our little dog too. Bed was pretty uncomfortable but clean ! Cute chalets, nice bathroom and appreciated the real coffee and plunger in the functional kitchen.

I stayed at the Mountain Chalet on January 8th of this year. My trip that day brought me from Greymouth by way of Arthur's Pass and Geraldine so it was a long day's drive. You get what you pay for at Mountain Chalet. It is clean, fairly basic but perfectly adequate and we can't complain! Unlike previous reviews we had no issues with our room smelling, or with the customer service!
