This is, without doubt, the best place to stay in Yosemite. Karen provided a great breakfast each day which set you up nicely for whatever you wanted to do. Karen gives great advice as to what to do and when, based on the weather forecast for each day and knows the park intimately and was a great host in a... More

We stayed in West Sierra for 4 nights in May. While it's within the borders of the park, its a 25 minute drive to the central part of Yosemite, so keep it in mind when planning dinner etc. The house itself is raised up on stilts and has a balcony that looks out over the treetops, at night there's no... We had a great time in Yosemite. It was our first time and Karen was very helpful with helping with our hiking itinerary. We also enjoyed staying in the park close to our hiking destinations. We highly recommend staying at the Yosemite West High Sierra B&B. Of note, we left a wallet and Karen was super sweet to expedite it's... More

Just to get it out of the way, on arriving at the High Sierra Bed & Breakfast the first thing you’ll encounter are the steps. Yes there are quite a few (around 80), but Karen told us many times in advance so we were ready for it. Quite frankly we appreciated the extra exercise so we could enjoy breakfast guilt... More

My husband & I spent 3 nights at this B&B 10/4 -10/6 and it turned out to be a great decision. Our hostess Karen was talkative and very informative about Yosemite since she has lived in the area for over 20 years. She told us the best sights to see and which to skip on a tight schedule. Breakfast was... More

Yosemite is a tricky place to stay with limited options and everything is expensive. Distances are also an issue and where you stay can make or break your visit. The Yosemite West High Sierra Bed and Breakfast is a great spot, provided you can manage the 88 steps to the front door! However once you are there it is perfect... More

My husband & I decided to spend our 1st two nights in Yosemite here followed by one night at the Ahwahnee, and we are so glad that we split things up that way, and yes, we will do it again the next time we visit this beautiful park. As others have noted, it is a long walk up to the... More

In looking for a place to stay in Yosemite, it seemed the choices were between camping and the expensive Ahwahnee. This B&B is a perfect alternative. Since this was our first visit, we didn't know what to expect in the park. We found that it would have been very inconvenient, let alone somewhat hazardous, to drive to out-of-park accommodations at... More

Our hostess was pleasant and a great cook. Her breakfast each morning is scrumptious. She made a German pancake that was so good, and so different than traditional pancakes. Breakfast was different each day which I like and enjoy the variety. There are many books, maps, trail guides available at the B&B for the Yosemite area during your stay. The... More

My husband and I spent one night at the Ahwahnee and two nights at West High Sierra Bed and Breakfast on our trip to Yosemite. I had never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast and was a little nervous but I am so glad I took the chance and stayed here. After staying in a room at the Ahwahnee for... More
