What an awesome place to stay. Quiet, clean, fully equipped kitchen. We had the tack room, only negatives were that there are not enough towel racks and the shower is one of those without a door so gets the whole floor wet in the bathroom. However this is a 5 star place. Beth the owner and Stacey her assistant are awesome, friendly. The “spool” is incredibly clean and inviting—enjoy a plastic glass of wine while watching sun setting and turning mountains purple. Even with 5 casitas everything is so private you can’t even see anyone else. Stars at night are great. We had. Day without a car and Beth suggested we walk the half mile to B and B cactus gardens so we spent 2 hrs there smiting their cacti! The landscaping at casitas is gorgeous. We hope to be back. 5 minute drive to hiking trails at Saguaro East. Queen bed for two was compfy

Very quiet and nicely located if you are riding bikes or hiking the desert. It is out of town, but good restaurants are a short drive away. The Casitas are decorated in an artful Southwestern motif and the kitchen is fully furnished with dishes etc.

The property is very beautiful, my wife and I have stayed at many places in Tucson this is by far the best place that we have stayed at, the spool is absolutely amazing, the landscaping is just beautiful, the mountain views are just spectacular, and the casitas are just perfect and cozy.

I have stayed at these casitas for months at a time and absolutely love them. The casitas are beautifully decorated and super cute! They have everything you could possibly need plus the area is peaceful and quiet. Beth & Tabitha are incredibly kind and made my stay even more enjoyable. In addition to the peaceful desert Beth has her own ranch on the property with lots of animals, I spent a lot of time feeding the goats and chickens! It was a wonderful break from my workday. I cannot recommend a better spot to relax and enjoy nature.

We stayed in the desert sun which was a 2 BR house, quite roomy and extremely clean. Wish we had more time to spend there but it was very comfortable while we were there. It was super private and very quiet - just great! Two things to mention that would have made it perfection - First - There were two bathrooms on two opposite ends of the house. Unfortunately, only one was stocked with shampoo, soap, etc. We had to share and carry back and forth from one side to the other. 2nd - there was a lovely table set up out back and I tried 3 light switches, none of which worked. There were nice strands of little lights set up that would have provided a nice ambience but I could not seem to find how to get them on so we could enjoy sitting outdoors. Perhaps in the hot months it's not possible? No worries, it didn't take away from the loveliness of the place and first class accommodations! Wonderful stay overall!

We stayed in the Storm Catcher for two nights. Mid March so mesquite trees weren’t quite blooming yet but quiet and peaceful. Woke up this morning to snow!!! So beautiful. Easy check in, very spacious. Great access to Saguaro National Park East.

As hikers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers, we couldn't have enjoyed staying at The Casitas more. They are located in a quiet area without much development, very close to Saguaro National Park, and are filled with all kinds of interesting cactus and other plants and birds and wildlife. We loved having our very own house as home base (privacy, quiet, space, and great views), and we enjoyed many evenings of just sitting out on the patio watching birds at the feeder; saw a coyote, rabbits, and several species of ground squirrels. The house itself is well decorated and extremely comfortable, and the Tuscon weather was perfect for a vacation - warm and dry. We will definitely be back.

We loved our March 2019 stay in Harvest Wind (and then, because we couldn't bear to leave when we were supposed to, Rain Dancer.) All the casitas are charming and private, the landscaping is beautiful, the sunsets gorgeous, the view of the mountains ever-changing, the backyard bird watching stellar (quail, roadrunners, many hummingbirds, and others). After hours of hiking in the nearby Saquaro National Park East or the Catalina Mountains we enjoyed soaking in the "spool." We never went out for dinner once--could not beat our own back yard! We hope to be back!

I love staying at the Casitas any time of year...and we have enjoyed all four seasons there . Our last visit during Nov 2018 consisted of a mini-reunion with high school friends. Loved lounging on our Desert Sun patio all afternoon, making dinners in the full-size kitchen, and visiting all of the animals! Very clean and cleverly decorated. We and/or our visitors have stayed in all 5 casitas, and they are all A+. Can't wait until our next visit in April....

This was my second visit to Smokey Springs Ranch, and it was (if possible) even more wonderful than the first! We had intended to take drives to a few local places, but we loved our casita so much we just stayed put for the whole four days - just sitting on the veranda, watching birds, lolling in the "spool" (spa pool), and strolling the grounds. The landscaping is exquisite, and the casita had everything we wanted plus!
