Don’t believe Google. The Crickethead Inn Bed and Breakfast is NOT permanently closed, and don’t bother using Google maps to find it. Use your noggin and read the signs as you drive down the road to this beautiful inn with the fabulous hosts Mike and Wayan. Not only is the inn right on the doorstep of the Saguaro National Park, it is a much better way to experience the gorgeous landscape and animal life of the Saguaro than the park itself and the Saguaro Desert Museum. We went to both, and they were fine, but the Inn was just better. After an amazing breakfast made by your hosts, just step outside. Sunrise and sunsets are yours to experience in near perfect silence without crowds or hype. Listen to the birds, and bring your binoculars. Enjoy the porch and garden. Curl up in a blanket and wait for the fox or javelinas who may visit. The Inn is a lovely, quirky, perfect gem.…

We are currently staying at Crickethead Inn outside Tucson and want to let everyone know it has re- opened with everything the same as before. Great innovative breakfast, great desert surroundings, peaceful, and the wildlife viewing is better than the Tucson Desert Museum.

We loved our stay at Crickethead Inn! The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and hospitable. We got to see Sonoran Desert wildlife up close. Our room was quiet and comfortable, with lovely Indonesian art adorning the space. The breakfasts were outstanding; I'll certainly never forget the amazing homemade salsa. We really enjoyed wandering around the property and walking up the wash to a nearby rock outcropping. This is a great place for folks who are traveling to Arizona to get a real desert experience and have amazing wildlife encounters! We will surely return to see Mike and Wayan again.

We spent two nights at Crickethead Inn and will echo many of the positive comments in others’ reviews - friendly hosts Mike and Wayan, a rustic and calming setting on the north edge of west Saguaro National Park, creative breakfasts and decor with Wayan’s Balinese touch, within an easy drive of greater Tucson. Crickethead Inn B&B is definitely “off the beaten path” at the end of a dirt road, but it is authentic and charming.

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our October 11-13, 2021 visit at Crickethead Inn Bed and Breakfast. Mike and Wayan couldn't have been better hosts. Our room was charming and we enjoyed the visiting desert animals, who clearly have become long-term friends of Mike and Wayan. In addition to the breathtaking scenery of the Sonoran Dessert right next door to the Inn, our hosts have green thumbs and grow a wonderful variety plants. The breakfasts were creative and delicious. The company of our hosts was priceless. The price of lodging was as reasonable as can be. Our visit at the Crickethead was one of the highlights of a two week vacation in Arizona and New Mexico. We would return in a heartbeat.

The ideal place to have an initmate encounter with the desert. Hosts Mike and Wayan taught our family (âges 2 to 45) how to better see and understand the desert’s inhabitants, from the cacti to the javalinas to the hummingbirds. They even prepared a sumptuous homemade breakfast every morning to prepare us for our daily adventure.

Crickethead is a unique experience. Isolated, with the Saguaro National Park right off the veranda. Incomparable hosts, Mike and Wayan provide a delicious breakfast, just the right amount of talk and tales, and an informal, relaxed environment. Located down a dirt road, this is not a "resort," but a special casual place with Indonesian harmonies right in America's southwest. We saw javalinas out the back door the moment we arrived.

We loved the authenticity of Crickethead - local animals, rocks, sunset, incredible stars, funky sculpture artwork. Best shower ever! Super pressure and lots of hot water. Mayan's Indo breakfasts were tasty, unique, and healthy. Agree this place is not for everyone- its not a cutout paint by numbers B&B - but if you are up for something uni we use, special, and different, this is it. (My wife and I, both retired, are travelers who appreciate special adventures and experiences.)

I was searching for a place to stay at the edge of the Saguaro National Park just 24 hours before I needed a place to stay and emailed Crickethead. I got a call back the very next morning and immediately was greeted warmly by the owner Mike. He confirmed over the phone - easy easy. Their hospitality was immense - a memory I will never forget of a fond evening seeing the sun set and the last sun light hitting the cacti and mountains and a morning with great coffee waking up the morning, hummingbirds flying in every direction and wildlife surrounding us. The accommodations were comfortable and spacious, the breakfast as the sun rose over the east was delicious, and the conversations with the owners about the desert, tips, and life were deep and meaningful. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer! Thank you again for having me and I look forward to returning soon.…

Cricket head Inn is a lovely and quirky place to stay. We stayed for six nights. We had a lovely, comfortable room. There is a nice patio area with a great view. Breakfasts are excellent (different every morning), thanks to Wayan’s great cooking. Other guests were very interesting, and we had some great conversations. We learned a lot about the area from Mike, a native Arizonan. Mike and Wayan have beautiful art and crafts from Bali for sale. We bought a small wood carved statue we really love. You couldn’t ask for better hosts than Mike and Wayan. The location can’t be beat, right in the beautiful desert on the border of Saquaro National Park. The Inn is reached by a dirt road which might put some people off, but is very doable. This is not for someone who wants a fancy place, but it is full of comfort, character, great conversation, and all around good vibes. Lots of return guests here, and we’ll be one of them. Thank you, Michael and Wayan!…
