The Captains House has been completely renewed this Year. the rooms are new, the view is amazing, new owners very nice. Few seconds from the beach, the sea, the promenade, the town. Just few minutes from the lighthouse. In other words perfect! Forniture, bathroom and services in the house are optimum quality. If You have the chance go there. More

I am not sure there is anymore that can be added to the fantastic reviews below mine but I felt I had to add my two pennies worth. I stayed at The Captains House for a long weekend (Thursday to Sunday) with my wife and three daughters aged 8, 6 and 2 years old. The 8 and 6 year old... More

Captains House is an absolute must for a short stay by the sea in Norfolk. The owner has meticulously prepared this house for guests and has achived that very difficult thing - making people feel completely 'at home', away from home. Both the house and the owner are absolutely charming and I could not have wished for a better 40th... More

We spent a week at The Captains House as part of my parents' Golden Wedding Celebration. Ages ranged from 17 to 88 and we all had a superb time. The house was built in 1820 for Captain Ellis and has lovely views from the front living room and front bedrooms. It overlooks the sea and The Gangway, with the RNLI... More

This is a beautiful house in a stunning location. We were a group of 14 (3 generations of family) and everyone loved the house. With only 2 parking spots and 7 cars it was a bit of a shuffle but there is other parking nearby if you get in quickly! The parking and the small courtyard garden were the only... More

We spent a week here with family including two young children, we choose the house beause of its location mainly near the beach and town, but were impressed by the description of the house as well. We were not disappointed, the house was spotless despite having pale carpets and sofa's. There was every appliance you could wish for and more.... More

We had a lovely week's stay at the captains house that I booked for all the family, primarily to take mom away as she cannot travel abroad any more. An 80 year old down to a 2 year old and everything in between! it was great! The setting of the house is stunning. Every room is very comfortable and the... More

We were in a group of thirteen and had booked the house for an adults only break that coincided with a friends birthday. The house is truly massive! Its a little quirky in places but that adds to the charm. The whole house was spotless, all the bathrooms were beatifully decorated, most with roll top baths which were lovely. We... More
