Stayed here many times, great location in Woodstock, you can walk to the stores, restaurants, etc. Lovely upstairs porch with rocking chairs and tables, Great place to watch the world go by while enjoying your coffee. Rooms are decorated with antiques, and there's a view of the river in the back. Friendly, helpful staff. Always enjoy our stay.

We much enjoyed our 4 nights at the Shire this past week. We loved the location, it was walkable and yet quiet. The beds are WONDERFUL and everything was clean and sparkling. Rated one down because there was no coffee in the second floor foyer, as promised.

The night my fiance and I got engaged we made a trip to Woodstock VT to the Shire Riverview Motel. We definitely will be returning. Not only did we enjoy a beautiful jacuzzi in our room, we had wonderful views and privacy. We would like to thank the staff and especially management for their exceptional service.

My family have stayed at the Shire for several years now. We are never disappointed with our visit. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Shire Rooms have always been clean and comfortable. The location is the best, just a quick walk into the village. Make sure you have breakfast or lunch at the Mountain Creamery!
