I chose this hotel after reading the reviews of hotels in the Bar area. I wanted to stay here as I would be arriving late on a long train journey from Belgrade. Most hotel prices in the area seemed to be very steep and so after whittling down the choices I settle on this one. I was a little put off by some of the reviews talking about train noise and difficulties in talking with the staff there, however I took the plunge. And it was a decent choice. It’s located within walking distance of the beach area and several local food markets and eateries. I also walked into Bar a couple of times to see the church and Palace and also up the coast road to the ruins of a fortress at Ratac. I arrived late to a lovely welcome from the lady owner. Her English is limited, but she makes up for that with her enthusiasm and huge smile. She showed me to my room, having been given a room at the front of the property in the second building on the first floor. It was a large room with a connecting door to a second room which I was asked not to use. I did have access to the full balcony facing out to the coast and road. The room was modern, spotlessly clean and well-appointed with a satellite TV, fridge and basic mini bar, lots of storage space and a huge comfy bed with good bedding. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower, sink and toilet with decent towels and a hairdryer. Some complimentary toiletries too. Again, very clean and modern. Breakfast was included and taken on the outdoor verandah at the front of the property. A simple buffet including local specialities as well as fruit, tea and coffee and juice. All enthusiastically explained by the owner each day. On my last day I had to leave very early to get a bus from Bar bus station at 0530. Arranging a taxi with reception as no issue and the owner even got up early to ensure I got away safely and had even packed me a little breakfast to go. The only downside of staying here was the traffic noise from the main coast road at the front. Traffic is constant all day and there is some noise through the night. I shut the windows and used ear plugs and it was OK as I’m not a light sleeper generally. I was not disturbed by the trains at the back of the hotel as they are infrequent, move very slowly and do not seem to run through the night. I would choose to use this place again on my trips if I was ever in Bar. I found the staff great people, I felt safe and it was good value.

We had really good stay here during our summer holiday. Hotel is nice, good location right next to the sea. Big terace for having breakfast or playing board game at night. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Always cared about our comfort. For the price it was premium service. It fulfilled all our expectations and even more.

Hotel Villa Antivari is a really good accommodation near to the beach in Bar, Montenegro. The size of the room was perfect and it was clean, and you should try their breakfast too! The only negative thing is that the balcony faces a crowded street - it is used all day and night long by cars, so it is a bit noisy.

We were in Bar for three nights and the hotel was good. The breakfast was okay if your not expecting too much and changed every morning. The rooms were clean and the staff was kind. It's near the beach. But the next time, maybe I would stay closer to the center.

Although this hotel is quite far out of Bar, it is in a good location as it is opposite a good stretch of beach. If you walk right out of the hotel and up the road, then the beaches are much quieter and the water is very clean and clear. Unfortunately it is on quite a busy road but the noise in the hotel is very minimal and did not keep us awake. It is easy to get into both Bar and the old town by the Mediterranean Express bus that goes from a bus stop just down the road and you don't want to stay in Bar as it's not a very pleasant town anyway! The room was clean and included a fridge and the air conditioning worked well. Unfortunately the bathroom smelt disgusting but there was a good amount of hot water. The wifi works in the rooms but often goes on and off. The breakfast was good and there was a variety of things to eat each day. The owners were very friendly and spoke good English. They have a big family and so love kids!

I was a little concerned about this place because of quite old reviews but it occurred to be a good choice in Bar. First, we had some problems with finding it, as the address we had suggested it is outside of Bar. Finally, it occurred that the hotel is located just at the main road along the sea, so really easy to find it. The location between the "magistrala" (main road) and the rails seems to be the weakest side of this place as it is quite noisy. It does not disturb too much as the rooms are well soundproof, the most you hear it when you have your breakfast on the terrace. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. You really feel welcomed and cared. breakfast is excellent, with a good choice of home made food. The only thing missing - better coffee. The rooms are well equipped, very clean, with comfortable beds, The air condition is very effective. The bathroom is not the biggest, but still convenient. There is a safe parking, wifi works generally only in the public places, in the room actually it did not work at all. I like this place, worth to recommend :)

Family run hotel with great breakfast and friendly staff. We were initially booked for three nights and ended staying six. Breakfast was fresh and homemade every morning. Recently renovated free beach across the street. The owners helped us with car rental and suggested places to visit. Old Town Bar and Haj-Nehaj were amazing. Parking at the hotel was free and secured during the night. Bar is a great town with many events - one evening we visited Wine Street Fair with over 40 wineries from Skadar Lake region of Bar. Would visit again!

It was hard to find decent accomodation for Montenegro on many of the English speaking websites, largely because the main tourist trade for the country is Serbian and Russian so many of the hotels don't bother with English sites. We found this place and booked for four nights out of the seven we were staying in Montengro. Good points: the service is friendly, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is plentiful, there is parking and it's near to an amazing restaurant. The bad sides: shower wasn't great, English isn't fluent at all, security doesn't seem high - they keep everyone's passports in an unocked cupboard at a desk that is sometimes unattended and they leave the keys for the occupied rooms on the desk for you to take when you return. The hotel is on a noisy A road, with a loud train track out the back and other gardens and houses very close by so you can hear conversations all the time. The nearby beach is the dirtiest beach I've ever been to, and we had to pick rubbish off the stones in order to sit down every time we went. There is no pool or additional facilities. The internet connection was intermittent - it would disappear for hours when I needed to work. It's also a long way from Bar itself so you need to be prepared to drive to go to the old town etc. Compared to the other places we stayed - a hotel in the capital, and a private apartment in a hostel in Kotor - and to other hotels we saw advertised in Bar when we arrived it was expensive. But in truth it did the job and was clean with friendly staff, although I would suggest waiting until you arrived to book a place as there is plenty more choice in real life than online.

First of all, I have to say that this is not the place if you are a little snob or picky, or if you feel still like a teenager and behave like that....It´s a quiet and lovely family run hotel, with the target of making you feel like at home. The hotel is new, very clean, the breackfast lovely and the girl from the reception absoluyely handy and very nice....on the other hand, the hotel doesn´t have bar or restaurant, and there is no lifter, so if you are hosted on the upper floors it can be a little unconfortable....but no worries, over there they will make everything to make you not give importance to all this details. if you are traveling with babies, the proximity and help with the family that owes the place will be even better....they love kids.

The place is nice, clean and personal are very friendly. Is not so near the beach, but is near main road, so the smoke from the car is so near. The rooms with sea view is block by some trees. The best thing here is the breakfast, which is tasted and plenty. Everybody from this villa want you to be happy, so if you need something just ask.
