Stayed here after driving up to the Hotel Bru (where we'd already paid for a room for the night), realised that the hotel looked like a grubby shack and decided to look for an alternative. We literally pulled up in the car park of this hotel and walked in to ask for a room. Their very helpful girl on reception... More

We planned to stay only one night there, but we actually came back on our way back as we were very pleased with our first experience. If the hotel is not full, they will try to give you a room with mountain view. The room are very clean, the bed are comfortable. The staff is nice (especially the girl at... More

Accomodation was really good, nice hot tubs and nice rooms. Service in the restaurant was below zero. Meals were very tastfull but way to little, staff was rude and some did not speak our own language, Icelandic. When working in such a public place that's the least you expect from the staff. Breakfast was good and we had a lot... More

Me and my boyfriend spent one night in this hotel as a get-away from noisy Reykjavik. Our room was facing the parking lot (room 117) so I guess it's nicer to have a room that's facing the other way and be able to view the mountains. But we arrived around 6 o'clock in the evening so it didn't really matter... More

A relaxing retreat-style hotel built on an 18-hole golf course. One story with larger rooms and easy accessible accomodations. Each room opens to a patio. Wi-Fi access, local television, hairdryer, under the floor geothermal heating. Beds were medium firm and provided a good nights rest. Restaurant has an excellent menu and many tasty local food selections. We were staying out... More

We spent 2 days in the hotel and was great . At night we looked at Aurora Borealis from the warm hot tubs on the cold October and was an esperience to remember. In the morning the breakfast in the nice dining room was great watching the sun rise! The hotel is high and the landscape great. The quiet rooms... More

We were traveling for 2 weeks in Iceland before we arrived in Borgarnes, and it was not until tonight that we saw the northern lights... We checked several hotels in town, but Hotel Hamar (recommended by a local) was the only one with decent rooms and private baths. The beds are the most comfortable that we have had since arriving... Stayed here on three separate occasions during may. Two were planned, and one was an unexpected midnight arrival after getting forced out of the Westfjords by a large snowstorm. On all occasions, the staff was amazingly friendly and polite! The rooms are generic modern hotel rooms, and kept immaculately clean. The rooms on the Southwest have doors leading out to... More
