Casa Amanecer exceeded my expectations! From the moment I arrived the host Helen made me feel apart of her home. Welcomed with fresh passionfruit juice I found a clean and ideal private room overlooking the San Ramon area. Located on the outskirts of town off the main road the noise is minimal (only a few dogs barking on occasion which... More

San Ramon is a very quiet town, and Casa Amanacer fits it nicely. This is not a place to come to for wild hooting shenanigans, but it is a place to go to if you want a peaceful, lovely home base to explore the region. While we were here, we-- with the assistance of Helen, who runs the Casa-- ziplined,... More

This was one of our favorite B&Bs in our trip through Costa Rica. It was definitely the best breakfast during our trip. The meal was extra special due to the herbs which were picked right before breakfast from the garden then added to the dishes. The court yard off the rooms was quite nice. There were a number of exotic... More

We wanted a reasonable drive to the airport on our last day in Costa Rica and chose this B&B.The hospitality was wonderful. We were greeted with fresh juice and a lovely supper was prepared for us. The rooms are small but for an overnight more than adequate. You would want to be in a rocker on the porch until bed... More

Stayed at this jewel of a bed and breakfast as we wanted to check out some coffee plantations in Costa Rica. The service was friendly and excellent, the rooms were spare but charming and the porch is the perfect place to mull over a book, while admiring the mountains and sipping the organic coffee Casa Amanecer grows and brews. This... More

We decided to visit this B&B primarily because the website highlighted their vegetarian breakfasts. We are primarily vegetarian ourselves. Anyway, we hadn't planned on going to San Ramon at all, but we decided to make this part of our trip JUST b/c of the owners. They are a married couple with 2 young children, like ourselves, who built this wonderful... More

Happy new year to you, Laneia! Well, first of all, I wish we could have been there to meet you and your children. This is what I love best about having a B&B, after all. But I'm glad that Helen was able to make you feel welcome and at home. We have known Helen for many years and trust her... More

We really enjoyed staying at this little B&B....the rooms were nicely decorated and we had a great view of the countryside. The hosts were great and served wonderful food and coffee. Chris let us tag along to see how they had their coffee processed by a local family. Experiences like these make us love traveling to Costa Rica.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We like to include our guests in our coffee-related activities, whether it is picking the the cherries off our plants, helping sort them, take them to be processed, helping us move the husked beans around on the big tables outside as it sun dries, or have it roasted and packed. And best... More

If I could give this B&B a rating above "excellent," I would. Everything about it is fabulous - from the gorgeous architecture, the attention to detail, the tranquil setting, great wholesome vegetarian food, and just simply FABULOUS hosts. This place does not cut corners yet the price is so reasonable. After some rough travel all over the country, I arrived... More
