We were pleased to find out that Marriott has now opened several category 4 hotels in Hawaii (previously, they had only cat 5+). This means we could redeem our "free night" certificates (you get them by having the Marriott credit card or from other promotions). The hotel was newly refurbished, with clean smell, look and feel. The room was very... More

After spending 5 nights in the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, what a pleasant surprise to find Kona and this very clean, comfortable and impressive hotel. A BRILLIANT location, walking distance to many eating options and access to all tours (generally pick up or a short taxi ride to the marina..). Staff in lobby were very accommodating and pleasant. Unfortunately... More

Common areas were very nice, hotel room was fine; basic, nothing special. We were in the East Tower and had a view of ... the West Tower. It was great to walk out the front door and be so close to the main drag during our first two nights in town -- a fantastic location. We were hardly there and... More

Location, location, location. Most of all there is a the little beach. a real plus for Kona. There is a pool. Lots of nooks and crannies. Good breakfast buffet, especially for kids. Then there is so much to see within walking distance. Bus stops outside the door. This place is great both for old grandparents and naughty little boys. not... More

We were so pleased with everything here at King Kemeamea. W honeymooned here, and my new husband had stayed here in the past before it was refurbished. He said the accommodations were good before and so much nicer now. Well done to the staff, designers, and restaurant! More

We were staying at the Sheraton over Christmas. My daughter and I were looking for some beach time while the others did the hike to the lava flow. We caught the free trolley from the Sheraton and ended up at the King Kam. The beach is lovely. It looks much better than the photos. It was not crowded. I would... More

The rooms were nice, however, sitting on the balcony on the 4th floor west tower oceanview the smell from a big noisy yellow box was so bad I could not sit outside at night. It was ugly to look at and the smell coming from it was discusting. It may have been the exhaust from the kitchen. Seems like they... More

Apparently we had a renovated room. We had a ocean view room overlooking one of the few white sand beaches on the Big Island. The hotel is nice, pool side is crowded during the day, great white sand beach overlooks a great bay where the Ironman Triathalon begins. Kailua-Kona is a great community for couples and families. Great shops, bars,... More
