If you are looking for a place to stay in Custer, Jake's B&B is it! We spent a week at Jake's and love every minute of it. The owner, Mark, has built an amazing place and his hospitality and food are second to none. The B&B is tucked away in the hills yet still only 2 minutes outside of Custer.... More

We spent 5 nights at this excellent B&B tucked into the Black Hills. Mark was a welcoming and attentive host. He has built a beautiful home that is perfect for an extended stay: comfortable bed, spacious room, ample storage space, good food, great shower, quiet setting. It was a real treat!

I am writing this review from Jakes master suite. My wife and I took a trip down to the Black Hills for our one year wedding Anniversery. We decided on Custer because of it's centralized location. I decided on Jakes because it looked like a pleasant place to stay, and that was an understatement. My wife and I arrived after... More

My husband and I spent a weekend at Jake's B&B. We were looking for a quiet getaway and it was perfect! Mark was such a gracious host. The room was spacious and spotless with a lovely view of the surrounding hills. We enjoyed our hearty breakfasts before each day of sightseeing. Overall, it was a fantastic weekend! We will definitely... More

The room was large even if the tv was small. We didn't mind because right outside our door was a peaceful scene with piped in music. Mark is a bit of a talker but a good host who prepares a good breakfast and makes you feel like an old friend.

The room was expansive, clean, and very plush. We enjoyed every minute of our stay; great food, generous host, and very, very relaxing experience. I cannot imagine anyone not finding this B&B to be the best.

Jake's is a superb example of how B&B's should be. During our recent trip (which included South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Colorado), accommodations were generally mediocre and our thoughts kept returning to Mark's well-run and elegantly comfortable property in Custer. We are difficult B&B customers, as between us we have a number of foods we can't eat. Some hosts... More

Mark has one of the nicest and best thought out places I've ever seen. The views from the master suite and front porch are spectacular. This place is spotless. I wish Mark could come and keep my place that nice. What's amazing about this place is that Mark planned and built the house. He is also and excellent chef. Everything... More

We spent most of the week at Jake's B&B on vacation. My husband and I loved staying here. Private, quiet, plush, very clean rooms; tasty and substantial breakfasts, the breakfast table alone was a feast for the eyes. The host, Mark, is friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. He located the fastest routes or the most scenic routes, depending... More
