Great, affordable hotel. Convenient for both Mt Rushmore & Crazy Horse, and you can walk into Custer easily. I wanted to do a Pros & Cons list, but I can't think of any Cons. Clean, spacious rooms in a new facility and a really nice common area with an open fire and windows onto landscaped gardens. Friendly staff.

Enjoyed our stay. HIE are always a little more but you know what you're going to get with them, this was no exception. Nice place, adequate breakfast, clean room, comfy bed. The town itself was extremely dead at end of September but that's not the hotel's fault. I'd stay again.

We spent two nights here and really enjoyed it. The hotel is beautiful with a patio area in back for enjoying the outdoors. We even saw deer out there nightly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a nice room on the backside of the hotel where it was very quiet. The clerk was very friendly and gave us a $10 discount for the off-season. They were closing for the season shortly after we left. We paid $109 which is pretty high but given the location and lack of competition during an extremely crowded summer... More

We came back to stay there twice now. Every time we get a great service, good room and decent breakfast. When I am back in Custer, you bet I will be staying there again. During my last stay I had a whitetail just hanging out just outside my room window. Can not beat a whirlpool after long day of walking.

This hotel was an excellent choice for us as we stayed in the Custer area. It has close-enough proximity to Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore and yet it is not in a "touristy" congested area. Everything about it was great. The common area, where we had complimentary breakfasts, was beautiful, with a view of a stone waterfall outside.

This hotel should be higher on the list! It is great! Big rooms, beautiful location (little waterfall behind the building - we saw deer drinking from it), wonderful breakfast - check out the pancakes, and friendly staff for the most part.
