This lodge was comfortable and convenient to everything we needed. I wish we had arrived earlier to make use of all they had to offer. The patio off of the indoor pool would have been wonderful for a cookout at sunset. The breakfast was delicious and the beds were very comfortable. A few minutes from checkout we were at the... More

The Great Sand Dunes Lodge is the best choice for most people when coming to the Great San Dunes National Park in south central Colorado. While camping is available in the park, for much of the year that's too cold for most of us. If you don't have an RV, the only other rooms within miles are at The Nature... More

The Great Sand Dunes Lodge was the best choice for visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The lodge is just outside the entrance to the park. You can see the dunes from your room. The room was clean and comfortable, and it had a high-def TV, mini fridge, and microwave. In the winter months, there is no restaurant service,... More

You are really paying for the location at the gate to the Great Sand Dunes National park. The rooms are small, though there are larger rooms available. The back patios are great and it is nice to have the gas grilles available since there are few restaurant options nearby. The rooms are unremarkable but clean if a little bleachy smelling.... More

Basic accommodation with awesome view. It is just one long simple Motel building with around 20 rooms and an indoor pool at the end of it. It has some poorly maintained outdoor grills in the back. It has some cheap humming bird feeders...which give you stunning views with humming birds at sunset. It has a cheaply constructed pool as well... More

The only place to stay if you are visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Owners were very friendly and arranged for our unexpectedly late check-in without any difficulty. Viewing dawn over the Great Sand Dunes from your patio is a peak experience. And then there are the hummingbirds! The owners have placed hummingbird feeders all around the property and... More

Great Sand Dunes lodge is a pleasant place at which to spend a night or two. It's conveniently located for exploring Great Sand Dunes National Park and the surrounding area. Although it is a long drive from the nearest town, the lodge is adjacent to a restaurant (open summers only) and gasoline pumps. The rooms are not fancy, but they... More

This is pretty much the only way to see the sand dunes at dawn and dusk without a long drive back into town. The rooms are simple but they have everything you need for a comfortable night's sleep and some time spent contemplating both the dunes and the immensity of the surrounding landscape. We were warned by the lodge management... More

We spent two nights at the Great Sand Dunes Lodge in September. Room was very basic motel-6 type, but clean, and had a fridge and microwave. Owners were extremely friendly and helpful, and had coffee ready every morning at the check in desk. Each room has patio doors that look out on the amazing sand dunes view. There are grills... More

If you are planning to visit Great sand dunes national park, plan to stay in this lodge at least for a day. The stay itself is a great experience. The lodge is located at the entrance of the park. The visitor center is 5 minutes drive. The rooms are clean with TV, fridge and microwave. All the rooms have a... More
