We stayed 2 nights at this lovely bed and breakfast. Ted and Sallie were brilliant hosts and it was really nice sharing our delicious breakfasts with other guests and exchanging stories. We stayed in the Hemingway Room which was very comfortable. The B&B is well located for all local amenities and in a quiet road. We visited Fort Vancouver which... More

We recently stayed at the Briar Rose and had a wonderful stay. Both Sallie and Ted were excellent hosts. Having restored a 1908 home to its former beauty, one is transported back to another era (without leaving behind modern conveniences). Luckily, we also were there during the weekend so enjoyed the local Farmer's Market. Had a great dinner at a... More

Briar Rose Inn is only two or three blocks, easy walking, from Vancouver's "downtown" -- marked, primarily, by Esther Short Park (and the weekly Farmer's Market on Saturdays; NOT TO BE MISSED). The Inn is a restored 1908 residence; we stayed in the Hemingway Room for a few nights -- two other rooms share a bath but the Hemingway and... More

We have stayed at the Briar Rose Inn four times and we will continue to choose it over any hotel. The home is beautifully furnished, comfortable and clean. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Ted is wonderful about accomodating special meal requests (gluten free, no dairy, etc) if you let him know ahead of time.

We recently stayed four nights at the Briar Rose Inn in downtown Vancouver and we simply had a great stay! The house is clean, nicely furnished and I thought period authentic for the early 1900's as it was built in 1908. Sallie and Ted bent over backwards to accommodate my family for breakfast and Ted whips up a great breakfast!... More

Grabbed a few nights stay at the Briar Rose Inn with its gracious hosts, Sallie & Ted. We planned on staying in Portland while we caught up on some "retail therapy" but saw their property listed on Trip Advisor and we were pleasantly surprised. Comfy bed, modern ensuite, uber-decorated with period pieces and a gorgeous property to boot. Breakfast was... More

My wife and I stayed here for a total of 11 nights recently while family were visiting from out of town. Loved it. During the course of our stay we occupied 3 of the 4 suites in the home and enjoyed them all. The home is wonderful - located along a quiet residential street, and with many thoughtful touches to... I booked this before really reading several reviews that reported trains being very close... I got worried. But alas, to me, my worry was for naught! Slept like a baby! What else, nice room (hearth), sweet owners (only met the gentleman so far), beautiful grounds, good decaf (and that's saying something), excellent location for our needs (visiting friends in north... We stayed one night and were more than satisfied. This place was only a couple blocks from the downtown area so we were able to walk to restaurants, etc. The B&B was clean and charming, room was comfy and the breakfast was delicious! The entire town is near the railroads so train noise is an issue anywhere you stay. Train... More

Sallie and Ted, the owners, are adorable. My sister and I stayed here for one night and wished we had more time just to chat with the owners. Decor is exquisite. Spotless and comfortable and the breakfast was terrific. Takes you back in time as it was so welcoming. We happen to love trains, so the nightly trains were not... More
